Once again the weather gods co-operated to provide excellent conditions for the Antique Aeroplane Association's annual fly-in at Echuca, Australia. Light winds, beautiful blue skies and a stunning collection of antique aeroplanes made for a great weekend. The lack of an organised airshow at this event did not diminish my enjoyment because most owners flew their aeroplanes at least once per day which provided ample opportunities for photography. The stand-out aircraft were a trio of Piper J3 Cubs and an immaculate DH-83 Fox Moth. Other notable attendees included a DH-60 Gipsy Moth, a DH-85 Leopard Moth and a DH-60 Moth. A few WWII trainers plus two jet trainers provided something for everyone. Thanks for viewing and I hope you enjoy the images. C&C always welcome.

Some absolute gems in there, particularly the Winjeel, Airtrainer and Army Cessna. Singapore S211 in a very nice scheme too.
Great post

Great pictures of some unusual types, and thanks for telling me (us) what they all are.

Absolutely fantastic. What a superb gathering. Really, really difficult to pick out a favourite but the Moths and Winjeel stand out for me.

Thanks for the responses. Well, it appears that the Winjeel has a few fans, so here's a few more from the weekend. I'll also add a few more aircraft types that I've just processed. I'm counting down the days until Duxford FL!

Another Winjeel in a (rather faded) training colour scheme followed by two in camo. scheme which I believe may have been the one used for Forward Air Control aircraft. Happy to be corrected.

Lovely stuff, I wish I was there.

Thanks for these, I love to see Aussie colour schemes on the Moths so different than UK ones.

Hi, a really nice series, like the other replies I would have liked to be there, so I will keep an eye open for one of their future fly-ins. cheers, RonS
