A bit more Abingdon

Post by ArthurG »

The new layout seemed to work quite well, but the light, for pictures, was always going to be best in the morning. Not as easy to move around the crowdline as in previous years. The walk around the outside of the static parking area just took up too much time so most of the day was spent at the Northern end, among very good company I might add. Note to self, golf buggy required for next year. A big 'Well Done' to Neil and his team for putting the show on and dealing with everything that was thrown at them. Here are a few pictures from the day.

Mustang shots are very nice, Arthur.

Thanks Dan. The light was pretty good for the morning arrivals. By the look of your pictures from North Weald, especially the Huey, you had nice weather all day.

Sdad, I was only there on the Sunday. The C-47 came in at 8.50, while we were waiting to park up, but from about 9.30 there was a steady stream of GA and participants. Well worth getting in early.

Well-done! Having managed the lighting conditions better than some, you have a really nice set of images here that take full advantage of the uncluttered background!
Maybe the swop-around of live-side has worked better than hoped for?

Really nice shots Arthur, well done and thanks for sharing. It was good to meet you on Sunday. You got a lot more out of the morning arrivals than I managed. I especially like the P51, AN2 and Fairchild Argus shots. Very nice light, you obviously picked a good spot on the crowdline
