Eyes in Time (The end of the Film)

Post by JonoUK »

Hi All,

Like a few others I was there to witness the final three Reece Phantoms of the Hellenic Air Force be put to rest. While the spotters day didn't play out as the squadron had hoped I think its fair to say a good time was had with plenty of opportunity to catch the jets in their final hour. A couple of repeat frames maybe but hopefully some different ones too and can you really get enough of a Reece Rhino? On with the pics

Super stuff, thanks for sharing.

Why do jets (from Western countries at least) often have all the warning and text around the cockpit in English? I understand the international ATC language is English, but surely a Greek speaker is the most likely to have to read 'clear still area before closing canopy' - I wouldn't want him to have to get his Collins Greek/English pocket dictionary out!

And yes, I know I'm being slightly silly and that they would just learn what it meant, but you get my point. Rafales, for example, appear to have it all in French only.
