I might even be tempted by this if the location is in a reasonable position for taxi and practice shots. I understand for most of the display at Biggin you're looking into the sun, so liveside would be out with the regulations now in place, so its more how you could overcome this really?

Just been announced via FB that a very limited number of tickets go on sale (online only) on Monday at 9.30am.

Yes correct, the arrivals day is go..........150 tickets go on sale via the Biggin Hill Festival of Flight website at 09.30 Monday morning..........

More details will be released on Monday, but it will be along the lines of entry at 10.00 am and you will be able to stay on the airfield until the last show movement at approx 18.00. You will be located in two areas, with movement allowed between the two, one on the runway crowd line , the other along the 29 runway where some of static and flying display items will be located....There will be a poor weather shelter, toilets and a catering outlet selling food and drink, along with on base parking..
It is expected to be fairly busy all day with show arrivals, as well as, movements to and from Eastbourne etc.... On top of that there will be regular airfield movements too...for example the based classic hangar Spitfire is due to fly 9 times on the Friday..... All that for £15...cant be bad....

I have been discussing the possibility of arranging a spotters/photographers day at Biggin Hill on Friday 18th August, the day prior to the show weekend....

Is there interest out there? There is a great line up for the show, both statics and flying...Most of which are expected to arrive on the Friday....
On top of that there will be several display items coming and going during the day that are displaying at Eastbourne, along with the regular airport traffic...

Initial discussions indicate an area would be provided giving opportunities to photograph aircraft on the main runway, and adjoining taxiway........

Tickets will be strictly limited , to probably in the region of 200......

Thanks, its the first time its been attempted at Biggin, so bear with us...We know it wont be perfect for the light all day..but hopefully everyone will have a nice and relaxed day close to the action...
