Someone has to Biggin!

Post by Blackbird »

With apologies for the pretty awful pun, here's a few some Saturday, pretty much in the order taken.

According to G-INFO, this is the only one on the UK register:

You don't get to see many of these any more

Is this airworthy, and is this the same airframe that I saw on my last visit in 2007 or 08 when it was painted red?

Well done to anyone that's made it to the end  , with more on my Flickr account.

Thanks for sharing Andy, Biggin Hill can be a tricky venue to shoot at when the sun comes out, F-16 topside is my pick of the bunch.

Thanks for posting these. I love the Czech choppers and the light on the climbing F-16 with gear down! I have been checking this forum frequently and was surprised not to see any images! (Pun forgiven!)

Andy - that is a great set. I really like the light on the first shot of the Bronco. That Dornier is beautiful: I had a great chat with the pilot on Saturday.

Thanks for posting!

Anthony.

Great set Andy, love that Hind!

I'm pretty sure the Wessex is airworthy, what a beauty she is too!

It is owned by the Wessex Club and flew SAR in Ghana i believe. They submitted the permit to fly papers a month or two ago so hopefully we will see it fly at airshows. They have a few other airframes including one which is maroon/red with a black nose and a union jack.

The same Do 28 arrived at Duxford for the Saturday Flying Legends just after we did but was hangared (at Arco I think) instead of lining up South side with the rest of us. I'm fairly sure it left in the evening before us but I didn't photograph that. Look out for it as a visitor to UK airshows I guess.

Thanks for all the comments which are much appreciated.

I've just realised that I saw the Do28 was at Old Warden at the show in October 2013, so it has been around for a while.
