Re: Someone is in big trouble!
A spokesman for the airbase confirmed that the aircraft involved was one of its Boeing EA-18G Growlers.
Spokesman Thomas Mills told the BBC: "From a Navy standpoint, we do hold our aircrew to the highest standards and this is absolutely unacceptable.
"It has zero training value and the aircrew is being held accountable."
The Federal Aviation Administration, a government agency that regulates US airspace, told local TV station KREM 2 that the manoeuvre did not appear to pose a safety risk and they "cannot police morality".
Plenty of onlookers on the ground were amused by Thursday afternoon's sky doodle.

In absolute fairness, it’s really well done.
Perhaps the Reds could incorporate this into their display routine for next season as part of the RAF 100th?

Posting comments on an aviation-related chatroom, are ya? Looks like it an' all...

The Blades already do, when a certain manoeuvre is viewed from a certain angle.
It really hard, in fact impossible, not to snigger at this though. Brilliant

Presumably just before the rollbacks.

Just a bit of harmless fun.
But , of course,we can`t have `Fun` any more
Hopefully the pilot involved won`t get `bollocked`

On the crew room blackboard, it's a bit of fun. Over the heads of thousands of men women and children, many of whom will find it embarrassing and offensive, it's immature, unprofessional, and irresponsible.

Well to be fair someone had just asked him what he thought of his Commander in Chief

Bet the pilot's CO had a bone to pick with them when they landed...

Re: Someone is in big trouble!
Don't know what the fuss is about, similar con-trails used to be much in evidence over South Wales when the RN's Sea Harriers were up practising ACMs......or maybe they were just expressing their opinion on Wales!
EA-18 crew should have used that as an excuse.
Still, it just goes to prove that no matter which nationality or branch of the Armed Forces, a bit of boredom will ensure that the 'inner squaddie' surfaces ( usually accompanied by a cloud of purple smoke & smell of sulphur ) and the voice whispers in your ear "Go on, nobody'll notice...."

but funny
And if they relate a '8' in the sky compiled with a long 'U' to a phallic symbol then maybe they are as immature as the pilot.

"How obscene, we're British after all!" Oh yes, that "embarrassing", "offensive" "immature" body part that 50% of the World's population posses, that must never be discussed or see the light of day, the disgusting beastly thing
It is not, embarrassing, offensive or immature, it is something that should be celebrated. Which clearly is the view of this aircrew

I find it hard to believe anyone was offended by it. Its hardly photorealistic after all... I doubt any child who is young sensitive enough to be disturbed would draw the link.

Turn your laptop upside down - it's just a pair of specs sitting on a rather long nose isn't it?

Exactly. Those who are too young won't get it, those who are old enough to get it should laugh or get a life.
Far too many people these days think the fact that they are offended matters.

Re: Someone is in big trouble!
Yeah, call me a douche or something, but that sort of stuff really doesn’t “offend” me.
I don’t think I’ve ever found something not deliberately aimed at me offensive.
I doubt anyone is really actually offended by it. There may be some trying to find a way to gripe about it because they believe (erroneously) that criticising things gives them and their opinion a sense of value. But those people will jump in their cars and drive into town and not think twice about all of the scantily-clad (mostly) women posing in the latest seductive range of underwear on billboards, or in coffe-table magazines. Suppose the irony is that Americans elected a confessed sex-pest as commander in chief. Boss can do stuff, but the pilots can’t? Bit harsh.
Honestly, it’s a drawing of a dick. It’s funny, and a little bit light-hearted, and in a really pretty awful world at times, this kind of innocent stuff is what we need. Good on them.

At least his wingman didn't fly to the tip then repeatedly fly in and out of the right kind of altitude to create the contrail.
Think the above post has got it spot on - some people just like the idea that someone might be offended by something.
We all got told not to call brainstorms brainstorms a few years ago because it was offensive to those with epilepsy. Fine, in anyone with epilepsy had ever found it offensive (which wasn't the case with the two teachers who were epileptic in the room and who were most perplexed!).

With so many cameras around these days it was a risky thing to do. As has been shown. One of those things where it might have seemed a good idea at the time but it'll leave a stain on their records.

A huge cock and balls drawn in the sky by a military jet. Superb.
