I am considering doing FRIAT this summer when tickets go on sale.

Do I need to purchase General admission then add FRIAT upgrade like the public grandstand or is entrance included in the FRIAT package? Also, can you still add the Swindon bus on to each day as normal? thanks

Buy a standalone FRIAT package, this includes emtrance to the show days

Not too sure about the buses though

I have to say it is years ago that I saw people with FRIAT passes on the shuttle bus for the last time. Not sure if the people from Stagecoach are aware of FRIAT being admission included. But what I do know is that they deny people on their busses that can't show tickets. And yes, I have seen people being kicked out of the queue for not having a ticket in the past, also when that day wasn't sold out.

No issues at all with shuttle bus/FRIAT combo. As far as the bus company is concerned it's just another form of admission ticket.

1. No park and view shuttle bus from Swindon to the site for arrivals.
2. No Tuesday arrivals
3. Red & Green entry points now back on the airfield.
4. Friday returned to normal.

No announcement on social media either, potentially on sale earlier than planned?

I imagine someone has done an ‘uh oh’ and put the page live too early. DBH are probably not even aware of it at this point.

£47 for a Friday ticket ? same price as the Saturday / Sunday ticket. Pretty sure when it was cheaper the previous years prior to this year when it was an 8 hour display.

Extremly disappointed if they cant provide a shuttle service to arrivals and depatures. So unless you have car you might as well not bother?

Got my ticket for Saturday in public grandstand. Interesting that you can pick your seat this year. Didn't have that in 2017.

Sunday just general admission, I will dander the static and then find a place at the top of the airfield like last time. A bit disappointed no shuttle bus for departures this year. Was going to do that. Oh well.

Would that be '2017' as in RIAT 2017, or when buying tickets for RIAT 2018?
If the latter, then you could pick which seat(s) you wanted.

Surely 'normal' would be no flying display.....after all, unless I'm mistaken the Friday 'half-day' display is a very recent thing ( 2014, for RAFAT's 50th, wasn't it? )

Presumably money talks & they think people will be stupid enough to stump up the full price for a half-day display.

I think that one of the principle reasons why Friday is continuing as a show day, albeit with a more limited flying display, is because of the engagement with schools it provides. So a very positive reason in my view. We seem to be so cynical these days thinking that every decision is a money grab.

Charging full price for the Friday ticket strikes me as money-grabbing.
If that means I'm too cynical, then I am.

If Duxford raised their ticket prices like that they’d be absolutely hounded. And also how does one who really enjoyed arrivals and depatures last year attend next year?

I think it’s asked every year and the following years I always forget - but has anyone got a history of entry prices over the last 10years, for example?
Price continues to creep up and what’s the justification for continual rises? Super Earlybird tickets edging closer to £50, full price near to £60! :hypno:
Aware there will be those who try to counter by saying it’s only a £2 increase, very small, only 4% up on 2017 SE ticket price, but it’s yet another rise. Do the advertised prices also include admin and booking fees? Add a couple more quid on top then if not and you are at the £50/60 mark already...

Hence the question about a historical view of prices as it surely was much less than 10 years ago that Super Earlbirds were mid-£30 and the full price tickets also sub £50

Super Earlybird Friday ticket at #RIAT17 was £13 cheaper than the same Sat/Sun tickets

We did a soft ticket launch late yesterday afternoon to ensure that it was functioning so that we could officially launch today. Our launch campaign includes an email scheduled for 1030 this morning as promised and social media launch tomorrow, so as not to overwhelm our lovely customer services team! Please be assured that we don't do anything unintentionally!
