Mental... what if (like presumably lots of people) you'll be in a hire car!?

I've asked that question in my application. Wonder if I'll get a reply?

Yep I was wondering the same. Even if you take your own car it says 'valid at the time of event' so if your insurance needs renewing between now and May your stuffed as well!

I assume they don't want a passport\ID scan?

Hmm, yeah, not really sure what to think about that. Guessing I'll have to rent a car if I go, I'll wait and see what they say :)

Damn, 5.5 hour drive from Mont De Marsan but it would be nice to do!

Edit: The Orange airshow is May 25-26th, so at the end of Tiger Meet

nah, it'll be rubbish and turn out to be a bit of a lemon as the weather is a bit inclement time of year. I can see this one turning ugly.

Hmm even though I said my group was renting a car I just got this email:

Dear Madam, Sir

You have contacted us to register for the 2019 NTM Spotters Day.

As of now, we are missing your : ID scan / car registration scan / car insurance scan valid at the time of the event
to complete your registration.

Please send us this document to complete the process.

We will then send you the confirmation email with some basic reminders and rules to follow.

Anyone have any ideas?

Well, I'd suggest writing back to them and explain your plan...

I sent them my car details as I am planning on driving down, even though my insurance runs out in February, with a note to say I'm going to send them the renewed version when I get it.

Did you include scans of your passport? As they included ID as one of the missing documents...

Just a thought

Airshowhammer - I'd have to say with difficulty - the base isn't far out of town but you'd have to either find a taxi driver who'd be willing to take you and then come back for you later or try and hook up with someone who is driving. And that's without actually getting to the town in the first place.

An alternative might be to go on an organised trip, such as one run by COAP, Ian Allan or 4Aviation - (the latter would start from The Netherlands but they may be able to pick you up from an airport on the way.)

Or maybe someone on here could add you to their travel plans?

Best

No doubt the event will be well organised if you can get on base, it's very photographer friendly inside. Outside however is a different story, trees and scrub (that are excellent for wildlife!) on the East end after a fair old slog don't make for the best approach shots and I don't like being committed to just the one day. Hmmm... dunno about this one ...

Wouldn't mind doing this one but really don't fancy the drive from Calais to Mont-de-Marsan, will have to see how the hire car situation pans out.

Any preserved aircraft/aviation museums that could be worth a look?

I've written to them twice regarding registration and the requirement for vehicle/insurance details and that a large number of folks will be utilising rental vehicles so unable to provide the data. To date, no response to date.

Will update if I hear anything.

There doesn't seem to be anything close by, the helicopter museum at Dax is the closest reasonably sized museum, which is about 30 miles from Mont-de-Marsan. http://www.museehelico-alat.com

The closest large museums are in Bordeaux and Toulouse, but they're 85 and 110 miles away respectively. http://www.caea.info http://www.aatlse.org http://www.musee-aeroscopia.fr

Hi everyone,

After one month awaiting, I haven't received any email from the NTM Spotter Day Organizers (except the automatic email just after my request). Does anybody have this problem?

Don't believe anyone has had anything other than the automated response as yet...
