Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
I've had a quick search, but does anyone know anything more about G-MASH? Not seen/heard a huge amount about it.
Would be quite cool to see.

Believe it's the aircraft that was quite frequently displayed at Little Gransden by Tracy Martin, who sadly passed away a couple of years ago. Haven't seen much of it since.

Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
Looks good. The potential for two Lysanders in the air at the same time is rather exciting - plus the Bronco is a really great display which will work brilliantly at Old Warden.

Be good to see the Huey back there, loved its last visit for Fly Navy 2017 (I think) ?

L-4J Grasshopper confirmed.
Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
Dakota and Catalina listed as static as well. Is the runway long enough for them to land? £2 to view the Dakota, £5 for the Cat. Good to see Shuttleworth listing what else is available during the day. Makes it more likely that I'll be able to drag the missus along if she knows there'll be more than just a few old planes!

Even the DH51 for AMB, everyone's a winner.

That's a shame, hopefully it'll appear at one of the other shows throughout the year.

Met Office forecast looking dry, if a little chilly. Would take that. Plenty of time for that to change though!

Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
Catalina, Bronco and the Huey are the items that will draw me to this show. Weather looks dry at the moment with a reasonable cloud base, but may need several layers on to keep warm.
However, I think the £30 asking price up to Saturday afternoon for online tickets is a bit steep. Yes I know you get the Swiss Garden, and the little vehicle parade to help with the wait for the show, but I do think £30 is a tad vertical.
Anyway, will wait for the forecast as at Saturday morning before ordering any tickets I think for this one.

I'm inclined to agree. The prices are putting me off - if you pay at the gate it's £35 now!
Will probably head over to North Weald to watch the Huey out and back in again instead tbh.

Was it £30 on the gate last year?

Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
The £20 SVAS entrance fee is worth it for any airshow at Old Warden as it's generally a lovely day out, catching up with many friends, and there is always good flying on offer. However, this weekend the that £20 will be worth it just to see ARCo's Lysander debut alone!

Re: Shuttleworth Season Premiere- 5th May 2019
I've just checked out the Shuttleworth website and I noticed that the gate price has gone up to £35 which a lot and it keeps on going up beyond the rate of inflation every year.
Is the Dakota the one at North Weald that is currently in overall natural aluminium? Although a Dak at Old Warden is very desirable it would have been better to have delayed it's debut until after the repaint.
The weather on Sunday isn't great, 13degC, cloudy with a breeze from the northwest. I think the Edwardians will stay hangared as will I. I'll give this one a miss.
