Because it totally dilutes the theme.
I've little to no interest in most fly-ins because they are normally comprised of light vintage types. The whole idea of Jet Fest seemed to be a small event where the quality is consistently high. This seems to be a larger event, but made up largely of filler items.
At £11 a ticket, and with nothing else on that day, who cares if it's got a bit of filler? The organisers are clearly working hard to make it a good day! I'm looking forward to it
Not sure how they are filler items! All the current airworthy UK and some european classic jets have been invited (only around 20 still airworthy on the UK register). There are just other events going on, essentially the same as last year. Just with additional areas added.

Absolutely.
If this becomes an established event on the calendar, all power to the organisers.

The more the merrier - loads of vintage jets plus lots of other bonus aircraft - what's not to like? Some of the types I've never seen flying before. I for one am really looking forward to it - let's hope we get the same weather as last year!
At £11 a ticket I totally agree a great day out is to be expected. Attended last year and it was a worthwhile event. Sadly UK weather is not so predicable and the £11 is for advance tickets. I feel that the £25 per person on the gate price is a bit high for a flyin of vintage types with no guarantee of display flying.
Doughnut - there is no guarantee of "Display Flying" because there is a guarantee on "No Display Flying" - this is a fly-in/gathering, not an air show. The organisers have made it clear from the start that there will be no displays. There will be "normal operations" only.
