I worked on XM135 at Strand Road, Preston while doing a 7 week work experience with English Electric. The detail of the work involved convinced me I'd never make it as an aeronautical engineer so i swapped to civil engineering instead. Good decision for me and the aero industry I think.

Another ship-jumper here. Really glad to see DD flourishing in its new home. Quite often see DCW at Duxford, must say hello and shake his hand one day. Thanks to all contributors for some beautiful work over the years.

Finally had chance to get across and catch up with the DD, after the shenanigans in "the other place". I have to say I have genuinely missed the updates from DX, and I think I'll be spending more time over here.

Seeing so many familiar names over here, I reckon it may be time to abandon Key and bring my Meteor project thread across to more pleasant pastures...

David - I've read accounts which say that the aircraft still bears scars from this flight - is that true? - Any chance of a pic?!

There is (or used to be) a little plaque in the cockpit commemorating Taffy's little adventure.

Duxford Wednesday 27th November:
After several days of poor weather, there was finally some flying today. Nothing vintage, just a powerline inspecting Robinson and a crew training EC155 from Stansted:

Duxford Friday 29th November:

Sunshine at last, and a very busy day at Duxford. First arrival of note was the Bremont Broussard, still wearing 'Venom' film colours. I understand 'Venom 2' is due for release next October...

A very welcome arrival in the shape of the 1937 Percival Vega Gull G-AEZJ. That's real class !

That last picture of the Hurricane is superb. Great effect with the natural light. Fantastic job.

Spitfire VIII 'MT928', which no longer carries it's D-FEUR registration, was noted outside this morning during a Hangar shuffle:

I did read somewhere that a sale back to the UK was pending, but not sure how true that is.

It would be nice to see MT928, fitted with the extended High-Altitude wing tips, as fitted to several other operational Mk.VIII's.

I know it's probably not an accurate fitting for this particular airframe, but it would certainly raise a few eyebrows, and give a slightly different outline to a very familiar sight.

Great photos as ever everyone - well done to all who have contributed this year and glad I've found its new home!

Still think the Wildcat looks like a Lynx that ate all the pies (including the box they came in)

Merry Xmas
