Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Dear all,
Now that we've had the Christmas and New Year's rush out of the way, we have decided to consider the requests for a separate historic forum.
As you can see, we've decided to try out the idea for size.
We extend the warmest of welcomes to all members and lurkers from Key and elsewhere. UKAR is absolutely nothing without its members, and we're all so glad to have you aboard. We hope that you can find a stable and interesting home here, and if anyone does have any ideas or queries, to please feel free to message one of the staff members.
At the same time, UKAR is its own forum, and its own identity, and we do not intend to become a pastiche "Key 2.0". This new forum will ultimately be what you members make of it. If the new section is not used, we may go back to the old format, or if it is over-used, then we may consider additional sub-forums.
We hope you will be happy at UKAR and enjoy the forum and wish you all the best for the upcoming year.
Kind regards,
UKAR Staff

Building up nicely into a meaningful location, here's hoping that we can all get some good interactions resurrected!

Thanks both, you'll see that both of your threads have been 'sticked;' to help you find them easier & keep them at the top of the page

For clarification, the plan is that the Duxford Diary stays in the photo area,
is that the case?

Cheers for that. I hope we can build up a thriving little corner of the forum for those of us with grubby hands!

Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Great news and thanks UKAR, I feel I have a new home.
Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Thanks for trying this out. It seems a great idea. It's now up to us to make it work. It looks as if it's well on its way.

Excellent idea. Hope it takes off.
Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Great idea ... It will address a need for sure
Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Another user logging in to say thanks for the refuge - what a shame to see what Key have done to the old forum. I expect this is where I will be coming from now on for my fix.
Cheers all

Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Thanks for taking on the Historic forum. Key have blown it and there's just too much decent information and discussion out there to lose.
Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
What an excellent idea. I badly miss the intelligent and knowledgeable input that used to exist over there.
Good luck with this.

Re: Welcome to the new Historic Aviation waffle
Everything!
Andy Brockman's book and film are imminent. (May 1st for the book, can be pre-ordered on Amazon) There will be some red faces amongst those who were taken in by Cundall. (The Buried Spitfires of Burma: A ‘Fake’ History )
But that's all for another thread. It should break about our ears shortly.

PS, It's lovely to see the familiar names here
