FlyBe in trouble again
If you eat high calorie foods with a Diet Coke, the drink cancels the calories out!

Well its not exactly shock news.Been rumoured for ages even though they are denying it just like Monarch,Thomas Cook,Wow have done in the past.Selling aircraft,using unreliable turboprops on routes that other airlines are using jets competing against them.I dont know how Eastern and Loganair survive to be honest.I work in the travel industry and been told not to book any FlyBe flights until further notice.

They need £100million to carry on until March, an appeal to the government to defer Passenger Duty tax payment until later in the year, the owners Virgin/Stobart/Connect will put the airline into liquidation sooner rather than later.

I'm not sure how you arrive at the conclusion that the Q400 is unreliable? Having a reasonably large base at Edinburgh means I get to fly quite a few different airframes, and on the whole they're brilliant machines. Granted, they have some general wear & tear, but no more so than other airline fleets.
The aircraft that have disappeared from the fleet have been returned to their respective lessors rather than sold as well, the Embraer didn't fit into the new business model any longer so makes more sense to get rid than muddle along with them.

Besides the known fault where the wheels fall off?

Plenty of videos to support the Q400 sadly. It's undercarriage has too often, failed to do the same.

Having worked on the Dash 8 100/200/300 and Q400 I am well aware of the wheel situation. If you install the washer incorrectly under the nut it spins and cuts the axle off on take off or landing. It is a known issue and there are multiple Bombardier/Airline videos out there showing how to install a main wheel correctly.
The Dash 8's are reasonably reliable and are quicker than a Jet on short sectors, not to mention the fuel burn is next to nothing as well on the Q400. The EMB 170/190 on the other hand is very maintenance intensive and is costly to operate.

Love flying on the Q400, never had a issue with Fly-be either. The thing is Fly-be is the major/only operator on many domestic routes and would leave a massive gap, unlike Thomas Cook. Southampton is pretty much 85% flybe and Newquay and Exeter 95% without forgetting their big presence in Scotland and Northern Ireland. The airline looked to be going the right way but it is that time of year. Lets just have a Q400 only fleet operating regional routes for a decient price, it will work.
