My second visit to Duxford this year and my first sighting of a warbird in its natural element when Spitfire Mk.T IX(Modified)/PT462/SW-A/(G-CTIX) went passenger flying. In the order taken.

PT462 is one of my favourites. Been years since I've seen her, though.

AR213 is probably my favourite of the lot. Just never seen her fly (unless you count in Battle of Britain, Piece of Cake, or Dunkirk!)

Lovely sunny day at Dux today but a brisk wind. A few "spam cans" on the move, but also the lovely Zlin Z.126 D-EYGL.

It's a bit of a spammy contribution; but I'm really enjoying this thread, as I did as a lurker on Key, and it's nice to see some old UKAR users like DragonRapide back and all.

Keep it up, chaps.

Some nice winter sunshine yesterday (5th February), allowed the Aircraft Restoration Company to exercise some of their resident aircraft. Here's a clip of Max Alpha Aviations Spitfire VIII MT928 G-BKMI (Formerly D-FEUR), flying just after midday, with John Romain at the controls:-

Also active were Harvard KF183, Hurricane V7497, Hurricane R4118, P-51 Mustang 'Miss Helen', Chipmunk WP929, Chipmunk WK522, RAF Grob Prefect ZM309 and a few other GA types - (video clips to follow!)

Natural metal P-38 and B-25, now where could they be coming from?

We had a red tailed Mustang in today.

Airspace peeling off again? Seem to recall the last bad weather parts were taking off...

Duxford Wednesday 12th February:

Good to be back at Duxford after a few day's absence, and remarkably there was no visible damage remaining after the weekend storms.
Hurricane G-HRLI / V7497 was up for some exercise in the bright sunshine, and some shuffling saw Spitfire G-CCCA / PV202 outside:

Harvard G-TSIX / 111836 was over from Earl's Colne for training:

Duxford Monday 17th February:

A very notable event today.
Hurricane I V7497, seen departing for a flypast at the funeral of Wing Commander Paul Farnes, DFM AE, one of the last Battle Of Britain veterans and the last RAF Ace.
This Hurricane served with 501 Sqn at the same time as (then) sergeant pilot Farnes.

Duxford Wednesday 19th February:

Chipmunk G-BCKN / WP811 was visiting this morning. A quick check suggests it is one of eleven Lycoming conversions flying in the UK, and the only one in RAF markings.
