UKAR Forum upgrade

Post by UK Airshow Review »

The forums are now back up. We've updated the software running the forums so it should hopefully run a bit smoother now.

You should notice some changes. Firstly, the mobile site has been given a freshen up and is now fully responsive. You'll also notice that the old Youtube, Twitter etc embed tags have been replaced by one single tag, depicted by the screen icon. Simply place the link inside this tag and it'll do the rest. There shouldn't be any need to faff about with removing letters anymore. Older posts may still carry the old tags and will need to be updated if you really care enough.

Emoji are also now enabled on the forum πŸ˜ŽπŸ˜œπŸ˜±πŸ€ πŸ£πŸ£βœˆπŸ›«πŸ›¬πŸšπŸ›©

If you encounter any forum-related issues after this maintenance period, please PM Wissam24

Very nice but wasn't there a link for 'New Posts' on the old forum?

If I try and post a Youtube Video link I get this error message when I preview the post "You cannot use certain BBCodes: media"

Is anyone else experiencing this? It works fine for me.

I'm not sure if this is something that I've removed or if it's part of the newer forum I'm afraid! I'll look into it.

Would seem a backward step if it is no longer available (sorry, that's not meant as a criticism) as we would have to browse all the individual boards, to find new posts!

It also seems that there is no order to how the posts are listed, though this could be that I have not set up my settings correctly, following the change.

Previously all posts were listed according to new posts!

I can login on my iPad but not on my pc. Any ideas how to get around this problem? And I have checked the caps lock!

Quick reply is cool.
As mentioned already - missing the New Posts option.
Adding pictures from computer would be a nice option as well (not only internet links).
Anyway - forum looks amazing :)

If you're getting the message "this form is not valid" or the like you will most likely need to clear your cookies

From the Upgrade thread, a couple of times I've clicked on my shortcut button and it occasionally comes up on the 'New Posts' page. It is there but no link button to it.

You are here: UK Airshow Review Message Board > Search > New posts

Brian

Edit.
Just done it again.

If I try to delete any PMs then I get the "The submitted form was invalid. Try submitting again." message. I'm using Chrome and have just deleted cookies, this happens if I just try to delete one PM, or the whole lot.
Thanks for updating the forum but it really needs a 'New Posts' option as has been said before.

Never used this fabled "New posts" button. Just went to the forums I normally went to and if there was one in bold it was new. There's not five billion forums to check!

"Fabled"? Surely reading new posts is the most sensible way to use a forum, it saves you having to look through every section! :dizzy:

Have to say I hadn't noticed it missing, I don't think I've ever clicked it in my life!

It was at the top as a sub menu when you clicked on 'Board Index' I think !

The link is here, if you can work it out from that :- https://forums.airshows.co.uk/search.ph ... d=newposts
