Every museum in the UK, of any kind, is closed until further notice.

Apart, apparently, from a lawnmower museum situated within a garden centre in Sussex.

Have you got a link? I do like engines and lawnmowers - not for now but when things are better I might like to visit.

I'm betting it will be closed in a few days. Somebody is bound to grass them up

Good call, although personally I would go with the Wildcats because as everyone knows ‘it’s a lot less bover with a hover’.

I’ll get my coat....

Perhaps worth mentioning that museums will be able to re-open from July 4th.

Last night's Lockdown Lecture from the Museum of Army Flying mentioned opening from the 13th - shame it's a bit far for a day trip for me.

Boscombe Down / Old Sarum - opening 7th July
http://www.boscombedownaviationcollection.co.uk/

RAF Museum - opening 6th July
https://www.rafmuseum.org.uk/ ( I assume both Hendon and Cosford)

Elvington - opening 4th July
https://yorkshireairmuseum.org/

That's my week sorted :)

Here's the main part of a tweet that we posted earlier - "Encouraged by the change in guidelines allowing museums to reopen; we’re putting in place the Covid-Secure policies & will make a decision on the date of our reopening once we are happy that this is complete. .."

As I type it is unlikely that we'll re-open on the 4th, but perhaps shortly there after - still working on a few aircraft moves related to the eventual arrival of DA4 - the shop will continue to remain open each Tues, Weds, Fri, Sat & Sun until we re-open fully.

Has to be said, I'm excited for museums opening again. Another big part of the summer I've missed.

Picking out the main point from the post in historic .. "we’re are provisionally aiming to reopen on Monday 6th July – full details in here!

http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/Museum_Re-Opening_Plans

Some of the aircraft moves mentioned have already taken place this morning & a few photos are already on the museum's Twitter feed!"

Surprised nothing from Duxford yet. I would have thought with all their hardstanding it would be easy enough to do a limited opening.

The IWM have 3 museums, a ship and an underground bunker to organise social distancing for. Might take a bit longer.

If they've any sense they'll devolve responsibility on a site by site basis. Especially at such a financially lean time I would have thought they'd open the sites that they safely can as soon as they're allowed.
