Announced today that the Guernsey Air Display will take place on Sept 10th, assuming no changes to the local COVID situation.
RAFAT and BBMF (Dakota, 2 Spitfires) confirmed plus Catalina self confirmed on their website.
As welcome news as this is to Guernsey folk, this isn’t much good to most on here, as Guernsey is currently COVID free and is maintaining a 14 day quarantine period for all U.K. arrivals in order to keep it that way.

Would this also include a display at Jersey. I attended the display over St Helier last year which was excellent, except for some rather mixed weather.

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
Jersey have taken a different path re COVID, and their borders are currently open, with a test on arrival. Also, they are still importing a few cases, so not yet allowing large gatherings - although that could change any time.
I know they hope to hold a display of some kind subject to restrictions at the time, although it seems unlikely it would include the Swedish Historics....
Perhaps somebody else knows more?

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
Had a call today from my daughter who lives in Jersey that it has been decided not to hold an Air Show in Jersey this year, however, it is hoped to hold one there next year.

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
when I went to the Jersey Display in 2016 (and maybe 2017) the Guernsey display was the same day (in the morning) and all the planes took off from Jersey to do the display. That might all change if they are just doing Guernsey though...

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
48 hours to the only sea front display in Europe this year, and keeping everything crossed.
As is always the case, a few last minute changes. The Lancaster has pulled out (believe it recovered into Coningsby on a 7700 code the other day).... so just Spitfire and Hurricane.
Team Raven have been affected by the lockdown in Caerphilly ( first COVID cancellation?) and are being replaced by The Blades.
The Merlin has cancelled and is being replaced by a two ship from the Yakolevs.
RAFAT will be flying straight into display from the U.K.
Rich Goodwin, Fireflies, Air Search and Catalina are all still good.

Re: Guernsey Air Display 2020
It was great. Perfect weather. The only seafront display in Europe (the World?) in 2020 and, with the news from Duxford, it looks like the only UK display from RAFAT. I know how lucky we were.
Flying:
Started off by BBMF Spitfire TE311 and Hurricane LF363
Welcome return of the Blades, who made it work after a late call when Team Raven cancelled due to the Caerphilly lockdown.
Local participant, Channel Islands AirSearch Islander performed a role demo with the lifeboat.
New to this event, the Yakolevs pair were very punchy and a great noise.
Rich Goodwin was back with his usual madness in the new blue G-JPIT.
Fireflies put on their usual polished aerobatics - flying into and out of display to Bognor.
Nice to have the graceful Catalina back.
Finally, we were treated to a full RAFAT display in blue skies. Excellent display - you wouldn't have known it was only their second show of the year.
In 2020, it really did feel like "special event" and the island were rewarded in their efforts to remain COVID free.
