In view of the recent unfortunate tech issues I thought I'd take the opportunity to re-upload my last post ( now lost ) and put everything in one place.....hope you enjoy seeing these Golden Oldies. I am renowned for getting the dates wrong, poor archiving and retrieval so many apologies in advance. The following is a selection from 1977-2015, from Fairford, Greenham Common, Farnborough, Biggin Hill, Boscombe Down and others .

A further selection from the archives. Once again please feel free to correct any dates......great memories of the press day at Biggin with Mark Hanna flying in with the ex Patrouille de Suisse Hunter. You can see looking at the foliage that the cargo 707 left it rather late at Gatwick in '94.

Re: GOLDEN OLDIES UPDATED 1 DECEMBER 2021
Absolutely belting stuff, lovely processing as well, what scanner are you using?
Your years are all over the place, Hunters are 2001, Victor trailing at Fairford is 1985 etc, but to be honest who cares, brilliant memories.

Re: Golden Oldies (Updated 1 December 2021)
I think the photo of the bagged VC-10s was taken at RAF Abingdon, they were stored there initially unprotected for many years awaiting tanker conversion.

Brilliant stuff.
My favourite is the Blackbird with the Austin Maestro police car in the background, representing both ends of the scale in human achievement

Yes the VC10s are at Abingdon. These are a combination of Kodakchrome, Fuji Velvia, the dreaded Orwochrome (cheap and nasty ) and digital.
All slides are copied with a NIKON D850 tethered up to a Mac using Capture One.
Anyone who says film was better , needs their brains tested . You can tell the shots done of Velvia also , much sharper . Anything grainy is either Orwo' or Kodakchrome....

Some absolute corkers there! The F-4s, Buccaneers, Lightnings, F-104s are superb amongst a terrific set that bears repeated scroll-throughs.
Velvia was the boys. Kodak redeemed itself with the Ektar print film but Kodachrome was never to my own taste.
