fantastic! I'm due to go to Zakopane in May I understand only the tops will have snow then

Yes, even in June there could be snow on the tops.

Which trail was that? I did Kuzniec to below Kasprowy Wierch (the cable car was closed which meant everyone had to walk for the views) , the 5 lakes then across the blue trail to the Morskie Oko road (which was officially still closed but a few people had got through) and the Koscieleska and Chocholowska valleys (which I think are at the end of your gallery). Snow level was about 1400m very hard going up to the 5 lakes chalet

Ok thanks I think I walked that valley in reverse started from Cyrhla then as far as the red path went (photo 10; was expecting something dramatic but there was nothing, the red trail continued towards Morskie Oko) before walking back to the road. It was not as scenic as your photos!
