Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Has RIAT definitely said P&V tickets would be available to buy on the day? They appear to operating a waiting list system this year for tickets which I've not seen before. Also P&V Monday appears to have been removed altogether from https://www.airtattoo.com/airshow/tickets/park-and-view
It not hard to see there maybe a bit of SNAFU at P&V on the Monday if no tickets are available.

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
It states 'there will be more tickets available on the gate on a first come, first served basis' on the page that you have linked to.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
An aircraft that's gone a little unnoticed which i'm looking forward to is 2 Excel's Boeing 727! (I forgot this was even on the list). Never seen it before!
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Many thanks, guess you have to get there silly early to get a ticket then!cg_341 wrote: ↑Tue 21 Jun 2022, 1:59 pmYou're not on the airfield (well, I suppose technically you are) - you'll be in one of two pens, one at the eastern end or one at the western end. They have a finite capacity, and of that capacity a certain percentage of tickets are sold in advance and a certain amount sold on the gate.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Do we know of there are going to be any early arrivals on the monday or tuesday just before the show starts on the wednesday?
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
I know we have discussed the merits of this but just wanted to say that I still don`t understand this approach of selling tickets in advance but keeping some available on the day if you turn up early enough. The logic escapes me - hopefully RIAT can explain why this odd approach is taken.cg_341 wrote: ↑Tue 21 Jun 2022, 1:59 pmYou're not on the airfield (well, I suppose technically you are) - you'll be in one of two pens, one at the eastern end or one at the western end. The West P&V gets very crowded on Monday most years and they can`t actually predict how many people will be there. A lot of the FRIAT ticket holders also head down that way so how can they possibly know how many people will be in what is a fairly small area.

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Crews that will attend RIAT ‘22 received a ‘information bulletin’. In it are mentioned some ‘heavy’ wingspans of aircraft that are (still) not mentioned on the website…

....but could refer to support aircraft, visitors, or just be generic information sent out every year, no?
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
^ The support aircraft are listed on the website!

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Being realistic with the air arms that are already confirmed or ongoing, what aircraft have 'a heavy wingspan' and haven't been listed on the website yet?
Don't want to make this a wish list post btw but I am very curious. With aircraft such as the C-17 ,C-130, A340 etc already attending it has to be a USAF bomber for sure. Personally I think it's a B-52 for static

Wait for it....

Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Not all of them. The Italian AF will be in and out with C-130Js for the Frecce & maybe RSV stuff. Expect there will be more than 1 support for the 2 Swiss AF acts also. The Czech AF may be in with a C295M for the 3 helicopters...
I expect the post on FC is referring to a B-52H personally....would be surprised if at least 1 didn't show up this year.

Guesses for today?

Some high hopes in here! Personally I'm at the point now where I just hope for no cancellations.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Don't even think about getting anymore flying displays
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Based on what? DBH have said there's no room for any more civilian acts in the flying, as it's filled to the brim with military hardware.(this doesn't mean everything has been announced).

Turkish Stars. USAF Flypast announcement, Thai A340 or Japanese 767 are my guesses.
Re: RIAT 2022 Discussion Thread
Someone on FC is claiming to work for the RNLAF crews and says mentioned on the "unannounced" list is a B-52, B1-b, E4B..
Who knows?
