Any chance of a B-52? They're fairly local at the moment to you.

Within the USAFE flypast requests one is for a B52 Flypast should they be out and about so its just a waiting game to see.

Best of luck with that then - hopefully it is pulled off.

A note on Facebook page say ' a surprise flypast', so fingers crossed that will be it.

Just a quick reminder that the British Phantom Aviation Group will be at Abingdon this weekend. The XV490 cockpit section will be onsite and cockpit tours will be available. The BPAG display and merchandise stand will be also be open and our volunteers will be on hand and ready to chat about all things Phantom.

We are looking forward to seeing some of you there, please feel free to drop by and say hello.

This looks like a really really decent bookend for the year. Really sad I’m unable to make it. Hope it goes well!

To be exact, the show has been postponed until spring 2023 and all tickets will be valid for the new date.

Update from the Abingdon Air & Country Show Committee - following the sad passing of HM Queen Elizabeth II,as a mark of respect we are postponing this year's show due to be held on 10th September.

A new date to be announced for Spring 2023 will follow.

All tickets purchased will be honoured for our next show in 2023.

Thank you for your understanding for sad matters beyond our control.
Not that unexpected considering the show is held at an active military base.

Disappointing but if that's what the organisers feel is the right decision then they won't get any arguments from me.

Looking forward to the rearranged show next year.. :D

With all the events that have gone ahead with due recognition of E-II-R passing, one has to question why some organisers decided to cancel/defer their events so readily & hastily. Especially in this case where the main beneficiary is a highly commendable service desperate for funds this year, not the next?
Personally, I feel that it's been so long since we had a State Funeral that the default protocol is over 55 years old & adopting possibly irrelevant standards of the mid Sixties. Who Knows?

The military teams have all been stood down, which has a greater or lesser effect on different events. Portrush lost so much of their flying programme it wouldn’t have been worth running, whereas Duxford only lost the BBMF and have been able to pay tribute in a very appropriate way with their show.

Abingdon takes place on MOD land, so does that fall into that military event shut down, forcing the organisers’ hand to postpone?
