Hi All, due to the teachers strike next week, I have now booked a few nights at the Tattershall Lakes place by Coningsby, Its the first time up there and would like some help as to what its like at the base for viewing, is it just typhoons?, is the hanger tour of BBMF worth it?? Is there any other places around to visit??
Any advise would be much appreciated!

https://www.thunder-and-lightnings.co.u ... ingsby.php will give you an idea of the Coningsby spotting positions.
May get the odd missed approach by a F-15 or F-35 but generally just Typhoons (BBMF are pretty much all grounded at the moment).
If you've not done it before then the hanger tour is worth it (I've done it 3 times and I've learnt new bits of information each time due to having a different tour guide on each occasion).
Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre at East Kirkby https://www.lincsaviation.co.uk/ isn't far away (approximately 15-20 minutes). Home of the Lancaster 'Just Jane'. Have a look on the website as she does regular taxi runs.
Newark Air Museum http://www.newarkairmuseum.org/ is approximately 40 minutes away and well worth a visit.

No probs
I've stayed at Tattershall Lakes numerous times. In fact if they are landing from the West (over the caravan site) you can walk down the river that runs along the side of the caravan site, down to where the approach lights are and the aircraft come straight over your head

I don't know if it's posted elsewhere but Black Jack is back at Coningsby.

@danspuggti gave some great tips! Be sure to check out that spot by the river - must be cool to have the jets flying right over. Let me know how you like East Kirkby too, I've been wanting to check out the Lancaster. Have a blast sightseeing, and I hope you get some good weather for plane spotting. Enjoy your trip!
