BBC predicting 50-55mph winds tomorrow - near enough a crosswind so that’ll be the major issue for Saturday. I’d be surprised if much got airborne due cross wind limitations.

Blue car park is getting very muddy now.

I said to my boy earlier when we left at at 12.30, those car parks will be fun later...

We only found the squadron tents whilst looking for the Threshold stand, very strange place to put them... :(

Did the Rafale team have a stand? Couldn’t find it at all.

Hot off the press the latest TAF for Brize has been published….Apologies for posting here but people seem to be getting in a tizzy about things tmrw hence posting here as well as the weather section.

TEMPO 1509/1515 21025G41KT 4000 +SHRA BKN024CB

Quick decode…..
From 7 am local the base vis and cloud base is 10k+ and a smattering of clouds at 1500’ increasing to a 30pc chance of clouds increasing slightly ( scattered ) at 1800’. Between 9am and midday wind picks up SSW’erly 18kts gusting 30kts. You then have a 30pc chance between 10am and 4 pm of a heavy shower with vis dropping to 4K in heavy rain and a 2400’ cloud base and wind gusting to 41 kts. This should be stressed it’s of the squally, gusty shower variety and should pass quickly.
All in all it’s not too bad, breezy and showery yes but well within the limits for most fast jet, helicopter a/c. Wouldn’t hold my breath for the 262 though.
Hope this is of use.

All very interesting but without wishing to be pessimistic, it all depends if they think the damage has already been done today?

Guess the car park conditions could be a factor Saturday and Sunday!

You know what?

I'm wet, cold, clothes sticking to me. .and I really enjoyed today lol. Absolute credit to the pilots who got up today, seriously challenging weather but still made for a fun display.

French kc135 final pass was amazing. SK60 put on a wonderful display and I enjoyed the Gripen and F16. Great to see the Saudi Hawks flying, all be in briefly. But the take offs with the water behind them in all displays was great to see.

Back tomorrow come rain or shine or heavy wind.

Only concern was the taxiway where static is was getting quite flooded but I expect it will drain overnight

Whatever happens tomorrow happens. I've still green to do tomorrow if all else fails

Yep, frustratingly for Friday visitors a lot of the highlights. Presume the E-6 will be heading up there too?

I thought the static layout was really well done and was a refreshing change!

I would assume so as static goes all the way to the barrier in blue already

Any sign of that second Greek Phantom yet? Has it even departed Aviano?

Conflicting info, and the usual “I reckon” so I shouldn’t like to say. Saw a Greek C-130H leaving Aviano today on ADSB, but whether the Phantom was fixed, and indeed if it just went back home or is making arrangements to be on the way, I don’t know.

Putting 2+2 together and getting 4.3, it looks like this was the stricken one that hasn’t (so far) made it:

There was a post on the arrivals thread I think that said they spoke to the pilot of the one that made it who said that the second one had cancelled - with the majority of the swag on board

Italian Air Force G550 MM62329 has departed, I think it was at Fairford as support replacing the P180

Would help if they’d put tracking down the length of the field before you turn off to park. They have in some but not others like the one nearest the campsite. Don’t know whose idea this was but it’s unbelievable to think they haven’t learnt from previous experience! As a result the grass from the top to the parking areas was looking like a quagmire!

As Orion has just posted it, other than the wind on Sat, the weather is looking a lot more favourable now for the weekend.
