Nope, the Thunderbirds flew over the crowd on numerous occasions; to begin their display, crossover break, centre split, conclusion of display (low bomb burst) and the all directions crossover some even in burner which caught me off guard!

If the post on social media is referencing an update tommorow, then what are our thoughts that it could be?
Personally it feels around the right time for the USAF to announce their schedule so I reckon USAF f16 demo

Yeah the f16 demo is the most relevant with the themes etc, but the a10 demo team if I remember where due to come during the cancelled shows. Would love to see the a10 demo again

I wouldn’t bank on any ACC attending especially as the last two years RIAT has been on their calendar and haven’t shown up!

Something to do with the Daks perhaps?

Yep good point, the mind boggles though. It's going to make a boring Thursday at work a bit more interesting!

You mean those that are planning to have crossed the Atlantic Ocean to the west a bit more than two months before RIAT?
A weather forecast is a forecast and just that

Would love to see an Eagle demo again, suppose the only viable options would be the above or the Saudi demo. Haven't seen one since probably 2006/2007 at Riat. Whenever that last demo was from the USAF

This was being flown by a Boeing company crew, so we’ll just have to hope they bring one over for Farnborough next year - that would be the only realistic chance of a RIAT appearance.

+1, I've been to every RIAT since 2010 and various other uk shows before and since then and have never seen an F15 demo (still kicking myself for not attending Duxford whatever year that was)

Yeah good point. We had a run of the superhornet displaying because of the same circumstances. So hopefully they are looking to sell the new x variant to a few more suitors !

I have watched the video of that touch and go at the end of its display at Duxford many times! Wish I was there

RIAT is mentioned on there!

It is, but after the dates for the Daks flying back across the Pond and returning to their home bases.
June 21-27: Northern Atlantic Crossing
June 27-28: Presque Isle, Maine (KPQI)
June 28: All DDS planes return to home base
July 19-21: RIAT - Royal International Air Tattoo, Fairford in Gloucestershire
July 22-28: EAA AirVenture, Oshkosh, Wis.

There are three UK-based Daks and a French-based one taking part in the tour as well as the US ones, so I'd imagine any RIAT participation would be limited to those at most

Having seen clips of August 1st in Dubai, aside from the novelty factor of being a debut, we're not missing much!

I am hoping that we can some Farnborough crossover this year. They said before during one of the virtual airtattoos that the PAF 'want' to bring over the JF-17. Surely more chance with Farnborough happening. Or I could be talking out of my ar..

The point is rather academic, as I believe Chinese aircraft aren't allowed at RIAT?

I thought that the last few years China was no longer on the list of invited nations.

That may stop their military from attending but I don’t think it prevents a commercial presence or Chinese aircraft operated by another nation from attending?

Indeed. There’s no way that Russia will be attending but we can still hope that the Germans send a MiG-29.
