Would love to see some top aces F16s as that could also fit in with the Canadian 100th theme as they are bases there
???

The Top Aces F-16As are not based out of Canada, they are in the States so that has nothing to do with the RCAF100 theme, if they come it only matches with the F-16 theme

Ah, but I know a chap who flew to Canada on a Boeing 767 and took a picture of it with his aperture set at f16, so that could also fit in with both themes.

I'll see if i can get hold of him, not sure if I'm allowed to e-mail him though with the forum regulations. One for the mods possibly?

🤣
Didn't realise they were based state side in all honesty, still would be a great catch for the f16 theme like said

I was discussing aircraft that could come for the RCAF anniversary with a friend of mine, an F-104 starfighter from starfighters inc would be really great (like they did at pratica de mare last year) Also t-33 and f-86 (or whatever the one in Europe is called) would also be nice additions. In terms of modern day assets, a couple of CF-18 for static and a CP-140 would be nice. Maybe a CC-295 at a push. Anything else?

I'm just sort of hoping for as many heavies as possible. The CP-140 would be top of the list. If we can get one of each of the CP-140, CC-130, CC-150 and CC-177 I think we have done well. When the CF-188 displayed at Riat 2018 did the spare jet stay over the northern side? I can't remember it being on our side of the airfield.

If Canada sends a C-17, you also can’t rule out a helicopter, as they did in the past.

If they didn't come last year when they were already in Europe then unfortunately I'd say there's zero chance this time.

As much as i’d love to see a Starfighter, I can’t imagine them wanting to go through all the logistics to send it over to the UK for the CANADIAN’S anniversary. More chance at the London airshow in September.

With Bulgaria on the ‘ongoing’ list, I can add their MiG-29 to the wishlist. With their F-16 delivery delayed until 2025, I’d love to see their Fulcrum on the lineup.

To be fair, I'd be happy with literally anything from Bulgaria, tho I prefer a AS532AL, SU-25 or MIG29 over a C-27J

Su-25, mig 29 or Mi-24 I’d be very happy with indeed. I love classic soviet tech

A Bulgarian SU-25 would be the best addition to RIAT since perhaps the Flanker returning to the flying after an absence of 18 years in 2017.

When was the last time one was seen at Fairford? The Czech ones in 1994 perhaps?

The Bulgarian Air Force being added to ongoing discussions seem to coincide with the US currently conducting a joint exercise with the Bulgarians, I wonder if this has any bearing on things, or this is a perfect example why the word coincidence was invented.

The only reason I mention this is because there's been a few instances were joint exercises have happened > ended up appearing at said countries main show.

I was thinking about USAF statics earlier about stuff I would love to see (rather than the likely stuff):
-kc-10 as it’s due for retirement in September
-Kc-46 park next to its predecessor
-C-5 everyone wants to see
-B-1/B-52
-T-38 Talon

Soz, had put this in the 'Discuss Anything' thread, but should belong in this wishlist thread :-

It would be nice for that Albatross that visited the Solent the other day to be enticed over for RIAT :-)

I'm guessing you're expecting the T-38 to arrive in the back of the C-5?

With the Kaan now flying, Turkey ongoing and the 'Pushing the Boundaries' theme, it would be nice to see one in the flying display. Big wish, I know.

The Czechs are the only ones to ever bring Frogfoots to RIAT events, with one at Boscombe ATI in 1992, and pairs at Fairford in 1993 and 1994 in a very compacted run of appearances.

Sukhoi brought a two seater and a single seat conversion of the two seat frame to Farnborough in 1992 and I think there was Georgian example buried there one year. Mildenhall was due a display but they scrubbed and only the Albatros turned up.

Or preferably they could bring something altogether better like F-4s, F-5s, F-16s, T-38s, E-7, C-130, C-160, Gulfstream, CN235, KC-135, Citation, SF-260, MFI-17, T-41, Cougar, S-70, UH-1, A400, Hurkus, KT-1.

Agreed, the Kaan is incredibly ugly and really just looks like a bad F-22 ripoff, I'd prefer the named aircraft in this list over the Kaan anyday!

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and plenty would be having an accident in their pants if the ugliest of them all - the A-10 - was to show up. Variety is the spice of life after all.

Would quite like to see a Boramae too but the Korean's aren't ongoing yet.

The Kaan and Boramae are still in their early development phase, so they are probably busy doing more important things than attending an airshow.
For Turkey I would rather love to see an F-4E, as they are on their way to the exit. But F-16 more probable.

The Kaan has just flown so yes, they're unlikely but this isn't a wish list for nothing. The Boramae has been flying since 2022 with 6 aircraft flying so more possible but are half way round the world. Good job this is a wish list.

The only other thing I'd like from Turkey is to see the Turkish Stars again. Phantoms are so yesterday...

Nowt to do with ugliness. Its about character, and these ten a penny lookalikes of flat faceted heaps possess none. Give me a one off ugly A-10 anyday that looks like nothing else flying. Yes please.

Sadly your Kaan has no spice and definitely no variety! Just my wrath!

And the aptly named I'll Boramae some plans from elsewhere is in the same boat.

Again, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see an A-10 one last time too, if only to reminisce about seeing them come over the house at 100ft and strafing at Donna Nook - the good old days. I must just like ugly aircraft - not a big fan of Fat Amy though.
