Always nice to see the CH-53G but would have been happier if they brought along the Tiger :-)

Tiger falls under the German Army, and as said multiple times on this forum they cannot cross the channel on their own, would be a large effort to get one over.

Is one of the German Tonkas going to be the specially painted 50th Anniv jet?

Many times on this forum, ahhh right many thanks for that, I'll trawl through the 43 plus pages and see what was mentioned, am sure I can find the time in my busy schedule to not only write this but also to look through the 43 plus pages..........(said in jest with just a hint of English sarcasm.....................).

However, appreciate the time and your effort in your response and to helpfully point out the multiple times........................

The mentioned Tornados are from TLG51 (Tiger) and WTD61 (Test).
The 50 anniversary Tornado is with TLG 33.

The only active WTD61 IDS I can find is the 98+59, not sure if you want to count this as special livery but I personally do

Could be wrong, but my gut tells me from the tone of the comms put out that the jet is perhaps being loaned to WTD61 from TLG33.

Any WTD61 participation is very rare though. That in and of itself is quite a catch.

Thank you!
The 79 still carriers the old woodland scheme but is a ECR (at least from the pictures I could find), so that one falls away sadly, I saw the 77 also has/had a special tail, does this 1 still have said tail or has it been removed?

Also 43+97 is operated by WTD61. Overall grey c/s but with WTD61 badge.
98+59 and 98+60 both active last couple of months. Both with badge and orange stripes at nose, tail and wings.
Scramble date base says 98+77 and 98+79 last noted 2021 and 2022.
98+79 is ASSTA3.1 test aircraft.

An excellent update today.

It's good to see the Pat. Suisse confirmed - it'll be great to see them back.

Superb support from the Luftwaffe again - the A319 being a personal highlight but the A400 should be a much-welcomed heavy in the flying display and it'll be interesting to see a different Typhoon displaying. Those CH53 seem to be like buses - you wait for however many years for them to return to Fairford (changing operators in the process) and now it looks set for its third appearance on the bounce.

Fingers crossed the Sentry makes it.

For English Members.
"It is used by our Tactical Air Force Squadrons 33 and 51 "Immelmann".

Right!! Not the A319 then?

As mentioned in a different thread, it would be nice if RIAT can entice that rather nice looking Albatross that visited the Solent the other day.

Also, I see the Italians have painted up an AMX in preparation of its retirement, perhaps that could make it across here ?

Quite disappointed about that to be honest. Although I am beyond happy with the Pat suisse, I love hornets and I was really hoping for them to be at RIAT this year. Is this schedule final?

Suppose only Spanish left that can attend ? Always think 2 of the same aircraft type is the perfect amount. Some of those years with 3 f-16 or 3 gripen, not that I would ever turn my nose up, but it is a bit samey samey in the same show

I suspect as due to the existing financial issues within the Swiss structures that yes, this is the final schedule. We are already lucky enough with Patrouille Suisse and it was amazing to see the Hornet in 2023, I am not sure if the Spanish hornet has flown since it crashed last year..

To be fair we have the Canadian Hornet this year, so the Hornet fix is filled by them (although not as exciting as the Swiss/Finnish).

Surprised there's no UK dates on the schedule though.
