The one will meet two themes https://fortune.com/2024/05/04/artifici ... -dogfight/:
Already mentioned in December and March, and unless its at Farnborough or flown here by fairies, or flown at Farnborough by fairies, I don't see it happening!

AUSTRIAN AIR FORCE - QRA Demo 2X Typhoon and C130
BULGARIAN AIR FORCE - SU25 (Static) Mig 29 (Flying) though probably will be F16
FINNISH ARMY - Mil Mi-8
INDIAN AIR FORCE - Jaguars (little chance I know) or Mig 29 but if they bring anything probably Rafale. Surya Kiran would be great
INDIAN NAVY - Mig 29 or Boeing P8
ITALIAN AIR FORCE - Typhoon with F35 & Tornados on static
LITHUANIAN AIR FORCE - C27 flying and Blackhawk static
ROYAL MOROCCAN AIR FORCE - F5 and Mirage static (though probably an F16)
ROYAL NORWEGIAN AIR FORCE - F35 Static
POLISH LAND FORCES - Apache or Sokol
POLISH AIR FORCE - F16 & Mig 29
PORTUGUESE AIR FORCE - F16 & Blackhawk
ROMANIAN AIR FORCE - F16 most likely
ROYAL SAUDI AIR FORCE - F15
SERBIAN AIR FORCE & AIR DEFENCE - Soko J-22 or Mil Mi-24

UNITED STATES (ALL) - B2, B1, F15, F35, F16 (Most likely all static)

I know we have little to 0 chance of seeing any of the Soviet stuff though.

Unfortunately they've been out of service for over a decade - NH90 would presumably be most likely if they were to send something, though an MD500 would be very welcome too.

At least a Finnish Mi8 could arrive in bits, its the Bulgarian F-16 I'm interested in!

Poland doesn't have Apaches yet, only MI17s and MI8s, PZL W3, PZL SW4 and AW149 out of my head

I hope we could get that New Zealand 757 over here for a display. The one that was planned for 2022 but cancelled. Would be really cool to see that to be chucked around.

And I feel the following are The likely flying additions to come (including Self confirms):
Italian c-27,t-346, F2000
RAF chinook
RN wildcat
Polish F-16
Saudi Hawks
Finnish NH90
Demo team Zeus
US cv22B
US bomber of some type
US f-15 (due to its “display” at Beja)
Austrian QRA.

Also, (albeit less likely) could be Krila Oluje from Croatia. Would be cool to see them back. Not one I’ve seen before.

Pretty good list, feel like we should and need some big updates in the coming weeks. Get it rolling again. Few more flying acts

There’s nothing to suggest that any of that is likely at all and is more appropriate to what this thread about.

What I mean by likeliness is that the ones listed are more likely than something like Surya Kiran for example. Also based on what commonly comes to RIAT or self confirms that have popped up.

I'll give you the Italians (although never assume!), the Chinook, the Wildcat(s) & the Polish F-16....probably the US CV-22B, but again never assume (they might be busy, it isn't a display crew..). The rest are *not* likely at all, where you get Zeus from I've no idea given the Hellenic AF have already said what is coming from them, the Austrian Typhoon pair are not a given but yeah, it would very great to have them back, Finnish NH-90 is not a given either, they may not attend at all let alone with a flying asset....& the US F-15 & bomber type are pie in the sky.

We really shouldn't just assume things can come, either because it's been before or because you've seen another event say it's going there. Just going to end up letting yourself down.

Edit: just to add, I've done enough of these events now that I've learned not to make assumptions about it. I don't even get overly excited about the actual participation updates anymore as it's what actually turns up on arrivals week that matters. Some of the currently listed aircraft won't even make it to July, others won't turn up during arrivals & in one or 2 freak cases I've witnessed, aircraft arrive and then go home again before the gates have opened to the public! 😁

Are the Mildenhall CV-22s even back flying yet? I suspect they’ll have other priorities than airshow attendance after 6 months or so of inactivity.

The CV-22s have only been doing ground runs as of current I believe

I wonder if Peter's visit to Serbia has had any bearing on the ongoing discussions currently with them and will come to fruition?

Sorry to be assumptive Peter! (I know this might just be coincidence and you really were just having a well earned break to see some exotica!)

Load of you on here are suggesting that the Austrian Typhoon and Hercules role demos are likely to come this year… Is that realistic or are people just being wishful thinkers?

I’ve seen some comments to this tune on Facebook. I suspect “likely” is wishful thinking. The only positive sign is that it’s a Zeltweg year, which is when Austrians tend to field flying demos (though it’s not always clear-cut), but other than that, they’re just as likely or unlikely as any other European participant. There have been Zeltweg years where they’ve sent nothing to RIAT, and non-Zeltweg years where they have, so who knows. They’re sporadic RIAT attendees at best.

I think 2022’s excellent demo was far more of a once-in-a-blue-moon turn up than enthusiasts give credit for.

The QRA demo would certainly fill the imaginary void of Couteau Delta not appearing.

The slow pass they did back in 2022 whilst turning away in burner had my ears ringing for days!

With the RSV seemingly returning to the flying what are we expecting for the flying/static?

As this is a wishlist i'd love for them to display the Tornado or even the F-35 (change it up a bit to the usual Typhoon/C-27/M-346).

Would love to see the RSV set up a tornado flying display as they’re on the cusp of retirement. Very “Italian air force” thing to do to display something due to be retired. Maybe just dreaming though, as that’s what most y’all think I do 😂

is that the usual C-27 and M346 that you don't see displaying anywhere else in the UK? I think they flew the last Tornado display a few years ago and fingers crossed nobody gives them an F-35 to play with. :kissing_heart:

Is it? They flew the last F-104 display 5 years before they retired, last AMX display about 10 years before they finished, last Tornado display 5 years ago. You're just making things up now?
