OW "Best of British" 12.05.24

Post by MUSTANG »

A hot day to start the Shuttleworth Airshow season off...very nice to see the Spitfire XIV and the Hawker Fury as well as the Navy Wings Swordfish..as usual the Blenheim display was spot on. As mention in the Airshow & Events section the Spitfire AR501 display was poor but as least I know what underside now looks like....

Just 3 for the moment...

I agree with you about the Shuttleworth Spitfire display. Just afterwards I met Peter Kosogoryn (spelling?) amongst the crowd and had a moan about it. I thought that much the same went for the Fury and at the start of its display I thought that the Spitfire XIV was going to do the same thing but it gave some nice topsides at the end.
Nice shots - looking forward to the rest.

What do you mean 'just'? there's no 'just' about these, in fact why would you ever need more than 3 when they're that good?

I don't know what it is about it, but I feel like I could reach out and grab that Spitfire up in those shots, it looks so crisp almost like a model.

Very nice set! For some reason I can't get past the appearance that the Fury 1 undercarriage was borrowed off something else!
I'm guessing the prop' gets closer to the ground during take-off than it appears? :nerd:

A fine set indeed, especially the Spit and Blenheim/Glad/Lizzie formation!
