Duxford Summer Airshow - 1st & 2nd June 2024

The Tempest and Lanc have dropped out from the show.

Hoping for a few more updates on the flying, surley that cannot be the final list?

I do hope Duxford have enquired about the Draken considering it's in the country the same day.

If the Rafale/F-86 wasn't participating, I don't think i'd have bothered.

Would be nice to have a few aircraft from the Fighter Collection, at least the Wildcat with its D-Day stripes!

The Titans will be displaying just the XA42 due to maintenance still ongoing on the Decathlon...

We’ve been a little quiet… Unfortunately, our Decathlon went in for some maintenance at the start of the year. Due to reasons outside our control, mostly around spare parts, we’ve been unable to get serviceable for the start of the season.
The Titans XA42 will be flying solo at the @imperialwarmuseums Duxford D-Day 80 next weekend. Stay tuned for updates, we look forward to bringing you the full act very soon.

That is either a serious miscommunication over the Rafale only being Saturday or was very misleading from Duxford.

Schedule from French Air Force only had one day, but Duxford always said 2. Now a week before show it changes?

Yep and Duxford will hide behind some t's and C's so they don't have to give any refunds.

Duxford successfully shooting themselves in the foot.

Unbelievable, only got an email back from them this week confirming Sunday for the rafale so I didn’t bother booking the Saturday !! I’m not not free on the Saturday either

Not happy about this to be honest, I had my suspicions when the official rafale schedule wasn’t showing the Sunday , should have gone with my gut.

I don't blame you, it was left ambigious on the website after the schedule was released and then when pressured they changed it to both days despite only showing in Saturday's highlights for so long.

It really does feel misleading and I would be angry too if I was doing Sunday only. Sadly they will hide behind the "subject to change" line.

Kinda sums up how Duxford have operated in recent years though.

Yeah it’s obviously harsh calling foul play, but the fact the rafale schedule specifically didn’t include the Sunday for the last couple of months but they insisted it was both days is a bit odd. Also only having it in the ‘Saturday highlights ‘ but then listed lower down as just as the show . All a bit weird

It was booked for both days, but unfortunately the support aircraft has been called for a tasking, so rather than cancel both days they've sadly had to cancel the Sunday appearance so the support aircraft can depart in time for it's task.

Trust me there are plenty of upset people at Duxford too.

Fair play, these things happen. Stands out more at a show like Duxford , especially as being a top act if you like

Knowing Duxford they will replace with a cub or some such!!!

I'm not too worried about the Rafale, seen it many times before, and looking forward to seeing the 2024 version of the Reds too. Would have been great to see it but not a deal breaker for me.

While the Rafale was a "cherry on top" type thing for me, the main sell was the Flying Bulls trio and the F86 which are far more rare in the UK. Thankfully I am there both days (I always try to do both days so I don't miss anything)

back for Summer airshow a few weeks before the D-Day 75th we got 2x F15s to open the Sunday, shame nothing like that has been announced.

I believe MAF have had to work with the CAA to agree an "acceptable" display? Seems unlikely they could sort all that out in a week, even assuming the Draken would be available?
