Thank you so much for posting this brilliant set of photos and the wonderful commentary. Seeing the Wyton Canberra brought back memories of an ATC camp there in 1990. You can't beat waking up in a tent to the sound of Avons spooling up on the other side of the fence! A few of us went to the Boscombe Down show in '90 that you mentioned, I must dig around and see if there any photos buried in a box. Thanks again!

I've just looked back over this thread (yet) again and enjoyed it as much as I did the first time. How fortunate we were to have had shows like that back in the day with such stunning participants. As some one else said, where did it all go wrong?

I've trawled this section and don't think I've ever seen this thread.

I remember this year well, not for being there but my dad (god rest his soul) for crashing his FIAT that very morning in Yateley on route to Fairford.

At the time i wasn't particularly bothered about aircraft (i just loved an airshow and the noise) but fast forward to now and I'd have been absolutely seething, lol.

It looked an absolute belter of a show

Cheers everyone for all the nice comments and your own personal memories. I have to be honest the build up for this year's show and some of the incredible unexpected items being listed is certainly lining this show up to be a classic among the modern era, and I thought 2022 was going to take some beating. fingers crossed for the weather.
