When Drag-Em-Oot first visited North Weald on 13 November 2005 after being ferried over from the States, the Aces High C47 was also in for maintenance. The aircraft were next but one on the production line and had held consecutive RAF serials. It was the first time they had been together for 60 years.
Rest of the shots are from various shows at Duxford
...and this one the most appropriate image. The D-Day stripes were applied as they would (may?) have been back in the day; with mops and whatever the crew could find. Not a parallel/straight line to be seen. C-53 Skytrooper N603MC (ex-N534BE). by George Pergaminelis, on Flickr
