I don't doubt the Red Arrows will be the exact same at RIAT than at Cosford?
Conveniently missed the part where I stated "especially where the highlighted airshows happen to be overseas" then....you know, just like the last video you posted ( or has the Spirit of St. Louis Airshow suddenly moved from the USA to the UK )

Best footage i've seen of the display so far. That first pass! Can now see why sometimes it's referred to as the screaming Eagle 🔥
Good to see the display close up. Not too much there from a photographic point of view, take off and a couple of close pitch ups, could do with some rolling passes as well. Still whatever it will be great to see airborne.

Like I said....grumpy bugger, me! :grinning:

Anything flying is better than being stuck in the static park in my opinion.

I’m interested, what would you all class as rare/star flying participants?
My list is:

F-35 role demo (star)
German a400M (star)
C-27 (star)
Pat suisse (star)
All 3 f-16s (star)

Yellow sparrows (rare)
Hungarian gripen (rare)
Cf-188 (rare)
All 3 f-16s are decently rare tbh

F-15 (rare and star)
Harrier (rare-ish and star)

One hell of a flying lineup so far!

Question about the car route to the air tattoo. I'm from abroad and stay in Lechlade every year for RIAT. The people I'm staying at, always arrange a 'local resident' pass for me. With that pass I'm allowed to take the purple route, which is for busses and VIPs. However, I think I've read somewhere (can't find it anymore) that there is an issue with this route in 2024. Something to do with the bridges being serviced or replaced near Hannington Wick?

For my piece of mind (and planning ahead), can someone tell me what the status is of that roadwork? Perhaps a link with updated info so I can plan ahead?

In 2023 there they had temporary bridges on that route, but it could still be used as per normal.

As far as I'm aware there will be a workaround. For last year there was a temporary bridge built over a collapsed culvert for the show. This year I imagine it will be the same, or a diversion through the field.

Hi all, been looking at this thread off and on recently and finally decided to make an account! Any word on the US joining RIAT this year? Feel I’m well overdue an F22 sighting but I feel like they would have confirmed attendance earlier if they were going to be attending…

I believe the F-22 is due to be in Oshkosh that weekend so we sadly won't be seeing her.

PlanesTV a couple weeks back did say on a stream that the B52s are coming back for statics so there will be atleast something.

Ahh gutted to hear no F22, although I wasn’t expecting one to be honest!

Defo keen on seeing B52’s at least, hopefully they might chuck in a B2 as well for good measure!
Sadly I don't think we are getting any flying acts from the US but there will definitely be some on static as they did mention this a few weeks back when the weekly update was released.

It’s a shame about the Americans but I suppose there will always be next year.

RNLAF F-16s currently due to turn up Thursday afternoon apparently. According to usually v.reliable poster of all things Dutch Viper over on FC....

"As I may speak for ourselves, currently our jets are scheduled to arrive on Thursday PM (subject to change)."

No one knows for 100% fact that the Americans might not rock up in the flying. Who predicted the B-52 in the flying last year? I certainly didn't. Same with the E-4B confirmation at the end of June in 2022 which flew past on Friday for static.

If we're lucky we might see the folks from Lakenheath/Hall/Ramstein/Spangdahlem in some form of Nato flypast on the Friday (A special flypast has been rumoured for Friday - Source Planes TV at Duxford last week).

Don't know if this website is any use to you : https://one.network/
Set the period option to 'Next 3 months' and it should show all the road closures / restrictions in force for when RIAT's on.

I'm that exhausted from travelling for Duxford and Cosford, I woke up and thought today was update day. :/

I've somehow managed to convince myself it was Thursday today.

I can actually see the Bulgarians attending this year as they’ve been ongoing for ages. (Doesn’t mean anything ik, India last year for example) but realistically a C-27 is all they would send as much as we would love a frogfoot or fulcrum or even hind. Albeit I’d like to be wrong. Chinook is a good shout and maybe Finnish nh90. The updates still to come are, so I’ve heard, apparently could be big in size. Judging by the amount of aircraft we have currently and how many they expect.

Yeah I honestly don't see how it gets to 250 from where we are now, but fair play if we get near that. In today's climate that is a great effort.
