It has since been updated to show as a Seafire display - it was excellent at Race Day last year.Professor_M wrote: ↑Wed 01 May 2024, 1:04 pmNo participants listed yet, though the Navywings flying programme lists a "TBC" appearance, with no type specified.

Or maybe Electra Junior G-AFTL after it cancelled its appearance at the Family Airshow earlier this month?lynothehammer wrote: ↑Fri 23 Aug 2024, 6:12 pmThey've nearly 5 weeks after the Proms to announce visitors.
Hoping if the Tempest gets back into the air that'll be down to visit.
Race Day last year was great (a pleasant surprise after repeatedly hearing it was one of the worse ones) - Seafire, Fury ISS & Spitfire PRXI particular highlights and even the yellow Slingsby T6 Kite VD218 was something a little different.
Lets see what the next few weeks bring...

I go to the race day every year I think it’s fantastic and a nice mix of vehicles. It closes the season nicely for me

Re: Race Day - 6th October
That's an excellent update - the Bronco and Bearcat were two that I'd thought multiple times recently would be great to see back at Old Warden.MikeCooper1990 wrote: ↑Fri 20 Sep 2024, 5:29 pmTFC's Bearcat, Bronco Demo Team's OV-10B, Spartan Executive, Cassutt Racer III and Stampe SV.4 now added to the visiting aircraft list.
It doesn't end there either by the look of things...

Re: Race Day - 6th October
just need the Tempest to get a couple of test flights in and get the all clear, that would properly top if off.
Having said that, the cancelled Vampire from earlier in the season would be a welcome addition (yes i know it has bugger all to do with the theme, but one can hope)..

Indeed, I think Jet Racing must be about the only facet of air racing that hasn't featured at a Shuttleworth Race Day (a bold claim) - they seem to have covered just about all other aspects fairly well over the years, from seaplanes to Formula 1 Air Racers, warbirds to gliders - and plenty in between.

Re: Race Day - 6th October
Wouldnt mind the sea planes coming back that was a nice addition in 2018

Re: Race Day - 6th October
If memory is correct there was a race at Cranfield mid 1980s, Vampire, Gnat amongst the participants. Maybe T-33 too?Professor_M wrote: ↑Sat 21 Sep 2024, 8:24 pmIndeed, I think Jet Racing must be about the only facet of air racing that hasn't featured at a Shuttleworth Race Day (a bold claim) - they seem to have covered just about all other aspects fairly well over the years, from seaplanes to Formula 1 Air Racers, warbirds to gliders - and plenty in between.

All five of those at Race Day last year (10 of the 15 visitors announced were at last year's show). Nonetheless, looking forward to the Bronco, Bearcat & Fury in particular from the line-up - provided the weather brightens up by next Sunday.lynothehammer wrote: ↑Fri 27 Sep 2024, 5:58 pmRace Day Announcement!

Still looks a very strong line up, fingers crossed the weather plays ball.
Re: Race Day - 6th October
With all this rain my concern is the grass runway...
Re: Race Day - 6th October
Hopefully my first visit to Shuttleworth, if the weather is good enough. Fingers crossed.

Weather does look to be improving some what, lets hope it's a nice finish to their season. Shuttleworth have been very lucky this year with weather.
