Iron Dome equivalent

Post by CJS »

With this evening's attacks on Israel by Iran and the use of the former's Iron Dome defence system, I was wondering if the UK has - or has ever had - anything similar in place?

I understand we have the Sabre system (or something, I forget the details - I may have never known them) but would it - if needed - be actually much use against a similar attack? If, say, Belgium decided to launch a bunch of rockets at the UK/

It was mentioned on the news this evening that the air defence system is actually layered with three components - the iron dome being for lower level threats. I didn't catch the names of the other parts.

Going laterally, I've just finished reading "V2" by Robert Harris - good story based on fact.

From posts on another forum, the other two systems used today were 'David's Sling' and 'Arrow'
