Draken and Viggen now on at the start of the show, then will probably gone afterwards, probably to avoid staying an extra day.
Have you got a source for that? Not that I don't believe you, just don't want a wasted journey!
From the Bournemouth aviation museum fb page:
For the followers of the Swedish Draken and Viggen the Friday times have been changed from 1725 to 1325 (Think they want to get home earlier) 👍

That's annoying. Got a long drive to Bournemouth from here with no chance of making it in time now.

Noticed this group were doing sailings out into the bay.. sadly sold out thou, this would be great for photography ..
maybe next year .. if you are coming to take pictures i would suggest a very long lens as the displays were miles away yesterday and very hazy!

Sadly the classification for the Swedish Jets puts them nearer to Cherbourg than Bournemouth!
On a sunny day the view south of Bournemouth is always hazy, except in Winter!

Probably better-off locating at the Airport as the light is great for the earlier display slot-time. Park sensibly & walk to where the other people congregate.

Great day out yesterday, lovely weather and nice displays. Great to see the Swedes, even if it isn’t as tight a display as modern day fighters . The zoom climbs etc was great to see

Yes, I've got regrets about not going - but not possible. The Draken display at Eastbourne may have been very short and a bit distant but still hugely charismatic aircraft, a fantastic shape in the sky. Navy display of Swordfish, Wasp etc sounds great too.

Just got home, we had a day on the East Cliff yesterday and everything seemed an awful lot further out than the last time i went in 2019.

As for the Drakken and Viggen i couldn't help but feel a little deflated and i understand the rules but a couple of straight passes down the crowd line in formation would have been welcomed, unfortunately under belly shots do nothing for me.

Luckily we went to the Museum and then found somewhere to park up to catch the Viggen, Drakken, Lancaster departure along with Moggy arriving.

Think next time i'll go spot at Hurn.

Same with the Draken at Eastbourne, even the commentator was surprised about the shortness of the display, just a couple of belly passes and then gone.

I knew the swedes would be far away, but I didn't expect it to be that far... my phone struggled to focus on the Draken so I had to change to the UHD camera :/ other displays were much better, first time seeing the Gazelle Sqr, Swordfish, Wasp and the Parachute team. Also nice to see the Blackcats as I missed them at RIAT.

If anyone's interested then turbo will be hosting a meet and greet signing posters and prints tomorrow. There's also signed Blackcats (£10) and Red Arrows (£20) prints

even just watching on Youtube (AeroviewTV) they seemed far away and alot further away than I remember the display line being, and the haze wasnt helping, though you could see the Isle of Wight ?!

kind of reminded me of Clacton a few years back when it seemed they were displaying over the windfarm.

Seen footage of the Viggen and Draken and i’m quite happy I didn’t make the journey down, seemed to be displaying in the middle of the English Channel.

Draken and Viggen are not modern aircraft and need a much larger amount of airspace to display then modern fast jets like the Typhoon which was explained by the commentator on numerous occassions so be grateful they even turned up as the rest of the show was pretty drab tbh.

I think it's all about preserving the old airframes for as long as possible, so no vigorous flying just aerial ballet.

All passes in front of the crowd seemed to be on the display line (usually further away at seaside shows than at airfields). When repositioning however, yes they were a long way away. But that is due to them taking nice gentle turns to preserve the airframes. A jet like that has a rather large turning circle if you're only flying gentle manoeuvres.
Zoom climbs were lovely to see though.

I made the trip down specifically to see them. I knew it wasn't going to be a great display aerobatic wise, along with rather poor photography conditions, but I thoroughly enjoyed just getting to see them. Quite a bit more afterburner than I was expecting as well

Totally grateful for them turning up, they were the reason we decided to go there instead of the Victory Show.

I'm not expecting a display similar to the Typhoon, but seeing the belly of them in formation just looked a bit urgh ! :D

Same with the Draken at Eastbourne,a couple of belly passes with a side view way out to see.Understand a bit limited as what they can do but a closer side on pass would have been nice.

Great show, but crap for photography if Iam honest, everything too far away (even with a 500mm lens), a few closer shots from the end of the pier as the display items ran into the display arena but all silhouettes as looking into the sun all day!
Only really came for the rarity factor of seeing the Draken and Viggen but the way they were displayed made it difficult to capture any decent images, but good to see thou and also great formation passes of Black Cats, Wasp and Swordfish and also lovely to see the Lanc back in the skies.
Would i go again , not sure , do i regret going this time , not at all, was lovey weather , some great flying ( even if too far away these days) and pleasant couple of days spent by the seaside.

I don't know where people got the idea they were far out, they were certainly closer on the Friday. Thursday they were clearly unable to get an idea of the space and they did appear further out on the first day.

Two planes don't make an airshow.

The distance thing I think I know what happened, who ever put the map together put the flight line in the wrong place. I chose to be near the old flight line and that worked very well. That being the hotel PlanesTV used last two years and the steam boat clearly were the central flightline and not where the map on the app / programme had it drawn.

The programme was full of errors too even a business was incorrectly written down Funk Griller when they were Funki leaving out the i, putting the wrong schedule for the dusk display in the programme. Then the app schedule was a mess leaving out the red devils on the friday and only adding them to the lineup less than 45 minutes before they were due to display if even shorter notice than that. Saturday dusk display stating two Spitfires on the app and only one displayed.

If they secure the Contract, will they bring their own 'Fog Machine' to complete the trashing of Bournemouth Air Festival ? Remember that statistically a Dead Duck cannot be resuscitated ! :innocent:

They had no control over what happened at the Pacific Airshow (claimed to be the “largest air show in the United States by attendance”) when it was held at Huntington Beach in Orange County, Los Angeles in early October 2024.
Mist & Fog made the event impossible to deliver. They are not magicians! :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Two, that is generous, you clearly never met the XH558 fan club on travels.

Apparently there won't be a show in 2025 with organisers looking at a 2026 return.
