Friday 11th October
A fairly quiet afternoon aside from Classic Wings busy with Tiger Moths, Dragon Rapide G-AKIF and Cub G-BIMM whilst PV202 was flying for Aerial Collective.

Zlin Z.242L arrived from Goodwood...

ARCo brought Harvard 1747 'Taz' and Nord N.1002 G-ATBG to Hangar 2 from the east end...

The hangar-reshuffle also afforded a [slightly] better view of Yak-18A G-CEIB in the Stephenson Hangar...

Tuesday 22nd October
A few from a slightly less sunny afternoon. With the "BADA Future of Airshows Summit" for Event Organisers (https://www.bada-uk.com/2011/01/bada-calendar/) taking place today (at some point renamed from "BADA Event Organisers Summit" in the last few months since I initially noted it in my diary), today seemed like as good a late-October day as any for a visit - and there turned out to be plenty of other activity too.

Bulldog Mk.128 HKG-6 was another visitor...

G-THUN returned from Sywell, prompting a reshuffle of some of the North-west corner of Hangar 2...

A couple of other movements...

Duxford Sunday 27th October:

Classic Wings were using Spitfire MJ627 today on the final day of their Spitfire Experience programme for 2024.
I believe the same airframe flew the very first Classic Wings Spitfire flight from Duxford in April 2015 (I'm open to correction !), so that makes 10 seasons. Amazingly, the price has only risen from £2750 to £2975. Not bad considering inflation !

Image

Staying with Classic Wings, Dragon Rapide G-AKIF was also in use today. After many years of Summer leases from The Swire Group, ownership passed to the Classic Wings group on October 11th. I understand the rebuild of G-AIYR (damaged June 2022) has been put on hold.

It was definitely being used in June 2015 when you took this photo of me taxiing by. :grinning:

Oddly, the clip of F/O Bregman 441 Sqn shooting down the Me 109 he claimed on the 27 Sept 1944 came up again in the reel of gun cam film I was reviewing last week!!!

Duxford Tuesday 29th October:

Wing-Walking Stearman G-EDII visited today for a demonstration flight. I understand they are looking for more venues from which to offer rides (No, I don't know who Ethel is !):

In Airspace, the first sign of next year's closure as the Sunderland's cradle is extended for fitting of castors:

Shame their recognition skills are not very good in the website.

Cary Grant was not chased by a Stearman in North by Northwest. It was an N3N-3 N45091, which is still around.

Duxford Monday 4th November:

Yet another grey day, but a few of the Duxford fleet were out for some exercise.
TFC's Bearcat and Mustang 'Marinell' were engine running, while (Sea) Fury G-CBEL was up for a local sortie:
