So today’s the day. Four hours to go before the after movie comes out in which case we can all go back to sleep until February. 😴

i'd say go back to sleep now. the the last after movie was just 10 minutes of people walking about eating things and buying things with a few bits of flying thrown in.

lol, I wouldn't mind a teaser for either a video or a book on 40 years of RIAT at Fairford. Only thing is, seeing clips and pictures from the early 90s late 80s annoys me that I didn't see it! My dad getting to see the SR-71 cannot be trumped by me

the book on 50 years of RIAT is pretty good. it does give you a lot of earlier decade envy

You're all so silly, it's clearly the long awaited return of Alexandra Burke.

I do think that this is a bit unfair on the guys from the air ops that are trying their hardest to sort out next years participation and have something to sort out as early as next feb and yet the Facebook furies rip into them because of the social media admins choice of words… just seems a bit harsh

Probably fair.

Mind you, that was an absolute migraine of a video, with not a single sequence on for more than about 2 seconds, and probably better a promotion for a children's party than an airshow until the last 20 seconds.

Even the opening click pic of the German Eufi climbing high with in cockpit footage was pure clickbait as I never noticed that in there at all, and most of the aircraft shots seemed to be filmed on the worst day possible. Mind numbing editing, just too much.

I'm definitely getting grumpier in my old age!

They probably do shorter clips simply for the modern short attention span of younger people. They also probably knew the outrage they would receive off the average Joe on Facebook furious that his private ride in an f16 hadn’t been announced so I just cannot understand what possessed them to use the word unforgettable?

I know its been raised before, but the ability to book multiple days seems to not be available, nor the multiple day discount as previous years, as just booked 3 for the grandstand, and had to go back in to book 3 general admissions for Sunday, therefore picking up 2 booking charges....... a little annoying

I booked multiple days at the same time when I bought my tickets a couple of months ago, though they did screw me with a double booking fee.

Just had a play, and it looks like whilst you can book multiple tickets and/or days for the Viewing Village - assuming that's what you'd wanted to do - in one go, the payment page still insists on adding a booking fee for every single day/seat you've selected!

Methinks an E-Mail ( or use the 'Contact' option : https://www.airtattoo.com/contact/ ) to them may sort this out.
( Unless they're aware of it and are using it as a way of gouging money from people )

Used their contact form for a question I had back in '22. Still haven't got any answer. Are they paying attention to these things anyway (at least since Armstrong left DBH)?

With yet more display acts dropping or changing their stance on international participation, it makes me appreciate the last couple of Riats, especially the last one. I know we had a separate thread earlier in the year but it does not bode well going forward. Losing this year alone the A-10 demo, Belgian F-16, Swiss F-18, Swiss demo teams doing less shows with a cap on international participation, Canadian CF-18 as well as the US teams apparent 'ban' on coming over for the time being, I'm impressed we got the level of show we did last year! Lets hope they can pull it out of the bag again this year coming! The aviation gods and state of the world are certainly not making it easy for DBH.

Nor the F35 display (go to Paris) or the F16 display (ok there is a gap) or the Snowbirds (no surprise)

Haven't seen the F35 schedule yet. But Paris is a different type of Airshow to RIAT and is a tradeshow not a public show, so comes under different rules.

It was talked about in the UKAR podcast with Peter a few months back I think.

Edit - So no US Teams at all. Oh well, we knew the reasons why it was unlikely in the first place but still doom merchants saying RIATs end is imminent lol

I am sure we will still have a fantastic USAF contribution to the show like in recent years since the new regulations came into place.

To the surprise of pretty much no one, none of the ACC demos have RIAT on the schedule. Bummed but expected
