Quick Climb Friday - 3.1.2025

Took a chance on the first flying day back at RAF Lakenheath last week, despite various rumours of only one squadron flying, or there being only limited flying, it turned out to be a great day! We had 20 F35s and 6 F15s for a total of 26!

I also decided to try out the fence on the high school side for the first time, it definitely gave a different view of the quick climbs, however most of the F35s had pulled up before reaching us, so lots of belly shots! It was however worth heading that side to take advantage of the stunning light that we had! Highlight of the day had to be the combined formation of LORD (F35s) and RAGE (F15s) who did an oath of re-enlistment for a pilot/WSO and then returned as a 4 ship and lead to a busy pattern!

Sorry! I completely missed this - I parked down near the small shopping area, then walked up the road and there is a small cut through in the hedge then you can walk around the edge of the field to the spot, other people had parked in the layby or the other little field entrance and then walked up the field edge
