The biennial show at Farnborough was a must do every two years with a three hour packed flying programme, aircraft would take off to display as the previous item was on approach to land, such was the intensity of the display. An absolutely packed and almost impossible to photograph static park - especially on the three public days, meant that getting in during the week was essential, something you learned! My first one was 1984, but my film from that year was lost, my Olympus Trip35 tore it out of the cassette, so no Mi26, Jaguar ACT, Mirage 3NG or F-20 Tigershark pics in my collection to show you.
Shots up to 1990 are from various print films - Fuji and Kodak scan well, Agfa is hateful. After that from Kodachrome slide film.

Phwoar, fantastic stuff Paul. I always like that two-tone grey scheme applied to the Typhoon prototype, shame it never stuck with the in-service aircraft. I seem to remember Dassault would change the flight number on the Rafale daily.

What on earth have I just looked through lol

Some great shots of amazing frames, indeed the variety! Well done!
Re: Farnborough - some memories
Them was the days! Great selection of photos. Such a shame the show went completely down the pan.
Re: Farnborough - some memories
Unreal. Thanks so much for sharing!
One thing that surprisingly stood out to me is how good the Gripen looks with coloured decals?

Great stuff. As a Farnborough resident I was there for all of those but I had certainly forgotten some. Thanks for the memories!

Re: Farnborough - some memories
Memories indeed, great to see and look back on. Farnborough was always a complicated thing. Not everything flew every day, you had to pick your day.. get lucky even. We really did see some stunning things there over the years though, which was some reward indeed.
Re: Farnborough - some memories
Really enjoyed this post, thank you. So much stuff that I was lucky to see but have no photos of. Have to admit had forgotten about some of the participants until looking through this thread, and as someone has already mentioned you either had to be there most days or drop lucky to catch certain items flying.
Re: Farnborough - some memories
Thanks for sharing these, unbelieve how much good stuff there was at these shows! Unfortunately my first Farnborough wasnt until 2008 by which point the quality had gone down!
