And Rafale aside in the past few years, it’ll be the same old tosh served up.

With a few exceptions to a line up, every air show has the same old tosh.

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June
Just ordered tickets but there has been a change to how ticketing is.
Members now have a separate booking form, when you go into buy tickets there is an option on the left hand side on a red button for members tickets. You no longer have members discount code, you put your membership number and name in.
When getting tickets, if you are looking to get the shuttle bus, it seems you have to pre-book the bus from either Cambridge train station or Trumpington. It will give you the option alongside the parking permit option.
It is no longer See Tickets, all you get now is a barcode. So no longer able to retrieve tickets. So don't lose them as there doesn't seem to be a way to get back to your tickets.

Rich Goodwin's Jet Pitts & Stampe Formation Team have been added.
Slow start, we had a lot more this time last year.

i'm going to sit the june show out this year. nothing they have offered so far i can't see somewhere else for less money. apart from last year which i think was mostly sold on the D-Day theme, the summer show has been underwhelming since Legends went, especially when you compare it to stuff other shows have got around a similar timejasonT1981 wrote: ↑Sat 15 Feb 2025, 4:07 pmRich Goodwin's Jet Pitts & Stampe Formation Team have been added.

I do enjoy the Summer show, but if you are to do just one show I would recommend the Battle of Britain show.
As rockfordstone said, the Summer show can sometimes feel underwhelming and a lot you can see at other free shows. It has become more "family friendly" aimed at families and not enthusiasts.

I’ve looked at the dates and the Battle of Britain Airshow works better for me anyway so will probably go with that one if possible. Another endorsement for the Battle of Britain show from me. The launch, balbo and recovery of 18 or so Spitfires and Hurricanes is absolutely unique and a great experience, and for that alone I'd recommend you see it at least once. As well as that, the RAF support the show, and the rest of the programme is in keeping with Duxford's showpiece event. You will benefit from picking up a few tips nearer the time on attending Duxford shows. Its not a straightforward venue to get the best of.BenTheBritishGuy wrote: ↑Mon 17 Feb 2025, 7:18 pmI’ve looked at the dates and the Battle of Britain Airshow works better for me anyway so will probably go with that one if possible. Ben,
I will also add to the recommendations for the Battle of Britain show. It is a great experience and sadly since Legends has gone none of the other shows are worth the price in my opinion. There are occassional belters added to the other shows but the Battle of Britain show is consistently the best of the remaining shows.

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June
Are they referring to the announcement of the display allocations from the Red Arrows, Typhoon etc, which will be announced in the next 2-3 weeks? Seem to think they are allocated through the MOD?jasonT1981 wrote: ↑Sat 01 Mar 2025, 4:10 pmInteresting wording saying "Ministry of Defence" rather than RAF etc

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June
Wasn't there some sort of possibility of an Apache display/demo this season, if so that's Army Air Corps not RAF, and the Black Cats are Navy, so not everything allocated will come from the RAF.
Saying (or typing MOD) is easier than listing individual services, especially on Social Media with word counts and short attention spans and specifying MOD specifies UK, rather than foreign military.

Re: Duxford Summer Airshow - 21st & 22nd June
Helicopter displays from the Apache, and previously Chinook, demo teams are allocated by the tri-service Joint Aviation Command (formerly Joint Helicopter Command), not by their individual services.
