Melbourne airport (Tullamarine) - *UPDATED 12 MAR 25*.

Post by GeorgeP »

G'day all, a few interesting arrivals gave me a good reason to head out to the airport. Interesting = some liveries that I had yet to photograph and United's 300-series triple from SFO which replaced a 787-9 service. All taken with a Canon 5D Mk IV and a Canon 100 - 400 L Mk II.

Thanks for viewing and I hope you like 'em. Best wishes for the festive season.

Nice to see something different than the same old stuff I see at LHR.
Thanks for sharing them 😀

Cheers,
Jeff

Thanks for the comments. A few more to add to this thread, rather than start another one.

Qantas has put a couple of A220s (they will ultimately operate quite a few more) into service to replace their fleet of DC-9s (cannot call them 717s) which, from what one of my ex instructors tells me, are a fab 'plane to fly. I managed to catch a garden-variety livery and the indigenous artwork livery on the same day.

Bonza and Virgin are the only two domestic airlines with 737-8 MAX aircraft.

Air NZ have put what I believe is an ex-Cathay triple into service.

Malaysia AL have replaced their A330s with A350s on the KL to Melbourne route.

Another special livery on one of the two per day Air India flights into Melbourne.

...and the last one is a Sichuan AL A350 special livery, two of which regularly visit our shores.

Nice update. I really like that QantasLink special scheme A220 and the Sichuan A350.

Rather than start another thread, I'll add a few more to this one. A new Chinese airline (Juneyao Air) recently started services to Melbourne, so it was a good reason to head out to Tulla' for a few hours. Managed to catch a few of Jetstar's NEO aircraft that have been painted in grey & orange, rather than the awful silver & orange.
