For those who purchased the now delayed (till 1st week of December) Collector’s Edition, Microsoft will be giving;

1 month of game pass (thus access to base game)

Upgrade to Aviator Edition on day 1 ish, rather than waiting. (gamertag must be entered at aerosoft).
Then inputing the game key once they finally ship.

Internet outage just after release. Didn't miss much!

I can now get to the menu. But so far no flying!

Doesn't bode well that the company that owns Azure can't get this right!

So much for "scalability"

DIsastrous release. This is why we don't pre-order things.

Well after a lot of consideration, I went for the cheapest edition. Even that was too much - what a dreadful product - a triumph of style over content. After a few hours of installing, unpacking, loading etc. I finally got it going the other night and I get get constant CTDs. Sometimes after a getting airborne, sometimes during start up. I have yet to close it down properly. It looks great but I'll go back to X-plane 12 or even MSFS 2020.

It's getting better slowly, but still a mess and should never have been released in such an unfinished state.

New PC arrived this week and was looking forward to seeing if fs2024 had become useable. Sadly for me, everything takes about 20 minutes to load once in game. Presumably being throttled by data speeds, but no issues on 2020 and my connection is fine (consistently over 200mbps, albeit on 5g), so can only conclude that the servers are still having issues….will stick to DCS for now!

No way ! lol that is impressive

I tried playing it a few times on my xbox series X but it was riddled with problems. I will probably go back to it over the holidays and hope it works better!

So after a bit of playing around, it seems the bandwidth issue was linked to the live traffic data. Turning that off improves loading times dramatically. Going to try and set up VR this evening, so will see how that goes…

Some success. I can usually try a couple of the challenges before it CTDs. No warning just stops responding and then shuts down. Free flight is a waste of time. It either doesn't load or just stops.

Managed to play this a few times now on Xbox series X, the Panavia Tornado looks a more importantly sounds great! Had the volume wayyyy to high through my headset but it was worth it. Full burners on the Tornado are amazing
