Thanks ! The B52 is cool for sure !

I'm quite curious about what the european countries named in the article will send ? Rafale for France for sure as they want to sell them to Asian countries but what about Italy and the UK (as the Reds are not going) ?

Has anybody on the forum ever attended LIMA on previous editions ?
I would like to know when do the display teams usually leave Langkawi ? On sunday ? On Monday ?
I ask this as I'm particularly interested by their support aircraft as the Russian Knights and the Indian teams will most probably fly with an Ilyushin as support and the Indonesian team might come with a C130, which are all cool aircrafts of course πŸ˜‰

It's unfortunately really silent here. Quite surprised that the organisers didn't announce anything new this week. Let's hope for something new soon...

What are your plans at Langkawi ?
For myself, I will be there from the 20th of may until the 26 in hope to get some support aircrafts and the departures 🀞.

Hello.

I will be there from 14.5. to 26.5. I know it's pretty early, but I want some time to acclimatize and there will be training flights the days before I think.

A pretty popular aviation instagramer from Singapur(Wltan1791a) says the Chinese team will come from "hearsay", although it's not officially announced yet.

He talked to team.members at the Thai Airshow in march.

No, you are right, I would have done the same if I would have been able to... There is more or less a complete week of rehersals the week before so you will have plenty of opportunities to catch the aircrafts in various angles, particularly the opening gambit as the display is only performed once then...

Noted for the Chinese team, I hope it's true 😎🀞

At first one must arrive at Langkawi. πŸ˜… My longest flight journey so far.

What are your flight stations? Mine are Berlin-Doha(Qatar)-Kuala Lumpur-Langkawi. Via Qatar Airways and Malaysia Airways.

It's true that Langkawi is not the best place to hold an airshow in my opinion... At least, not the most accessible. I'm routing LYS-DXB-KUL-LGK, not the shortest thing I've done πŸ˜…

The Jupiter Demonstration Team has just published a story on Instagram promoting LIMA25, suggesting that they will attend the show this year also.
Let's hope some other teams will follow.

Just tohugh I'd share my excitment:

(Although LIMA has not yet announced it officially some websites have already listed the Felon on the attendees list: https://airshowdisplay.fr/en/airshow/li ... rshow-2025 )

Hope to see you there? I will be watching from the fence on the 20th and going into the show on the 21st :)

@Willfrd

Hi !
Honestly, I have followed the "hearsay" about it for a few days now but unfortunately nothing official tend to confirm the attendance of the SU57 (airshowdisplay is a french website listing airshow participants worldwide) . I do hope it will be present, there are several articles stating that the RMAF has previously paid a close attention to this aircraft at Aero India and Zuhai, so ... why not ?
And be careful with the goodies, they are doing some with the Korean aerobatic team while it is not attending this year πŸ˜…

I hope that the program will be released soon 🀞

Hi Hotel Mike,

Let's hope that all the gossip turns into reality!
Personally I am a bit disappointed about the lack of official info about attending aircraft/program. I am with you, with a bit of luck we get something soon.

Thanks, I was imagining that irrelevant patches would show up. Decided to wait until Langkawi. Always better to see the aircraft before you get the patch!!

It's the same for me, almost no communication except their daily publication of the countdown to the show...

I know that this is more a business event than a true airshow but it's quite surprising to have so little info... Let's see what happens 🀞

Full list of aircraft has finally been released... Very disappointed about it on the "international side" and moreover, I noted many discrepancies between this list and another list which appeared in a news article which was supposedly quoting a LIMA 25 organiser. This list was also shared on LIMA25 facebook profile and seemed to be "relevant" ...
In addition, the Indian Team is very likely to cancel its participation due to the India/Pakistan war and in the meantime, Kubinka airbase, home of the Russian Knights has been targeted by Ukrainian drones 24 hours ago (but the Russian Knights displayed on the 9th of may parade in Russia).

However, to be fairly honest and a bit more positive, most of the RMAF assets will be displayed on static at least plus the Fire Department Mil-Mi17 and CL415 and aircrafts from other Malaysian entities. The US will perform a flypast with 2 B52 and an aeronaval group (9 super Hornet, 1 E2). The Singapore AF will send a Chinook, an Apache and a jet (an F16 if you follow the organiser, an F15 if you follow Bernama newspapers reports...)

....To add to it as I just read on a comment from LIMA on today's FB post "the list will be updated from time to time".

With regards to the current international conflicts affecting the participants....I guess it's Murphy's Law at the end of the day. We just need to hope for the best!

Another factor which *hopefully* we don't need to worry about is weather. It has been absolutely terrible around the area lately, very grey and wet wet.

I am absolutely gobsmacked by the zero official participation from Chinese assets. How is this possible? Surely there must be something missing?

On the plus side the US flyovers and Malaysian displays look like could make for some cool shots. Not to mention the maritime air display which I am also very much looking forward.

Woow, "from time to time"... How is this possible ? We are now more or less one week to the show ? πŸ˜… Honestly, the organisation has been terrible.
I don't know if you noticed the numerous "mistakes" in the list ? Clearly it looks like the person who did it doesn't know anything about aircrafts πŸ˜… "Agusta AS365, US Air Force Super Hornet, E12 aircraft (E2 I believe ?)". I was surprised to see a RSAF F16 as I read at least three other articles stating that it will be a F15...

As you said... Let's see, anyway my flight tickets are booked and non refundable πŸ˜‚
For myself, I'll arrive there next sunday, hoping for a rehersal of the opening gambit on Monday.

The discrepancies with aircraft models are crazy. I have to confess I was searching for the "E12" for a couple minutes, it doesn't help that when you search for it you get some kind of Top Gun Maverick next gen fighter showing up haha

The USAF Super Hornet I noticed straight away too. With regards to the RSAF fighters, who knows....we may get a F-15.5 🀣

I am on the same boat, all booked. Ultimately if it all goes wrong I'll get a couple days in Langkawi to enjoy the beach. πŸ˜…
I'm sure you'll get many more chances if you are going to try to catch the rehearsals.

One thing I am not sure if you noticed is the broad show timings seem to show a longer duration for the flight displays on the public days than in the trade days? This is contrary to previous editions (from what I researched). Although I have no doubt that the most special assets will be during trade days and specially (I hope) the inauguration ceremony.

To be fair, it will still be a pretty good show I believe as their "opening gambit" are always quite cool !
Let's see what happens, let's see how the list is "updated" until next week.
I think that display durations are the same during public days and trade days from what I see on their website ? ... But I have noticed that the second display sessions during public days are later in the day so the light might be better for pictures if thunderstorms keep away πŸ˜…

I just hope we don't miss much during the afternoon sessions, would be a pity!

Have you seen any details about the maritime display anywhere? I haven't found anything yet.
