Airshow del Garda 2025 - Desenzano, Italy 18/5/25

My first airshow of the season! Airshow del Garda 2025 was held in Desenzano del Garda, on the shores of Garda Lake, after last year's pause due to Frecce Tricolori's North American Tour. In my opinion, the program was a bit stale, too similar to the previous editions.

Coast Guard Leonardo AW139, which performed some "formation passes" with a Classe 600 patrol boat, and then performed a SAR demo






Zlin Savage amphibious ultralight flown by Fabio Guerra. During a slow pass, the airplane looked like it was hovering due to a moderate headwind!




Ttake Aerobatic Team flying 2 Yakovlev Yak-52










CAP 10 flown by paraplegic aerobatic pilot Paolo Pocobelli








Guardia di Finanza Leonardo MH-169A, simulating the interception of a Classe V.3000 patrol boat posing as a smuggling vessel








CAP 231 flown by aerobatic champion Andrea Pesenato










Low passes by 2 6th Stormo Tornado coming from nearby Ghedi air base, and 2 32nd Stormo F-35A








Frecce Tricolori, flying in a 9-ship formation instead of the usual 10-ship one after 3 planes were damaged in a mid-air collision on 6th May

Splendid pics, although some a little tightly cropped for me, but love the agency helicopters. Frecce shots are beautifully done, but the formations do look strangely imbalanced with the missing jet - you'd think no9 woyuld slot forward in the climbing shot for example?

Although it may look a little odd, each pilot may remain in their usual (and familiar!) formation position for risk mitigation reasons.
