Clear skies, a bit of moisture (for Vapor) and average temps and I’ll be a very happy chappy

A few clouds are nice, as long as they're high and don't start dropping on us. Simpsons clouds please

Yes, as said, it's impossible to predict the day weather at this moment, but atleast we know it's looking likely to be generally settled across the country for the most part.

And to show the pointlessness of the happy clappers packing their budgie smugglers this far out. The bbc forecast is now crap for the Thursday and Friday. Best to give it a week before any more great fore casting.

Now changed wildly again to full sun all 3 days.....like I say I don't really trust the BBC this far out. I'm hoping this trend to warmer sunny weather that a few sites mention is true, but until this time next week I won't know what to pack! 😄

I was going to post something earlier when the BBC was forecasting thunderstorms for thursday or friday morning (cant remember which). I get the difficulty forecasting 2 weeks ahead but the extremes we saw today are just frankly ludicrous.

They are indeed. That is why I only use the forecasts from the Met Office itself and even those I do not trust more than 3 days ahead. Also why I made sure that the waterproofing on my tent (for Kempsford) was refreshed recently.
nothing is confirmed at a show until its u/c hits the tarmac or it is running in for its display.....

Weather is ntot an exact science. The slightest change in one small area and a whole pattern can drift off the prdicated course. Long range is seldom accurate.

Just do what the Scots do - make sure you have the right coat.

I know, I know we are 9 days out from the first arrivals day but there must be a change away from the settled weather period that we have prior to RIAT. Once again its changed twice today already but the prior days have been rock solid sunshine for over a week now.

It depends how the breakdown of this next warm weather happens. I'll be waiting until the Monday/Tuesday of show week before deciding if I need an umbrella or not.

Umbrella for the rain, umbrella for the sun - an easy decision

I had to buy one of the £35 massive umbrellas in 2023. It was great, sadly I was unable to take it home with me due to size. I would have had to pay £50 to put it in the aircraft hold it was that large lol.

Only 10 days to go now and forecasting models are firming up further and looks like its going to be either warm with large sunny spells or VERY warm and clear blue skies. Still not beyond the realms of possibility that we have a few showers but less likely - and chance of heavy rain/heavy clouds is low.....once we get to this weekend we should have more confidence

Every year it just baffles me, I can look on the BBC weather in the morning, 28/29 degrees sun, look 3 hours later 24/25 cloud ....

I'm just going to wait until the night before I go to 'judge' it, although even then it is pointless.

I was at Biggin hill on Sunday for a breakfast, the forecast on the day - wind, rain and a thunderstorm ... it wasn't windy, didn't rain and no storm ... does my head in

I get that forecasts change and are nigh on pointless until 3 days prior, but judging by the past 5 weeks of weather l (especially down south where I am) it has been warm, warm or very warm. It’s supposed to hit 30 degrees here and 32 at Fairford this weekend. And with forecasts saying similar for next weekend I think we are fine!

Yeah I must say, however unreliable forecasts are this far out it does seem like wet weather isn't going to be causing any issues this year!

June to August 1976, the UK was going through a sustained drought.
In the last week of August Dennis Howell was appointed as Minister for Drought. He must have been very effective because 7 days later downfalls hit the country leading to extensive flooding - and helping the Eyebrook reservoir ( now Rutland Water) to fill up about 12 months early.
If we get a monsoon next week Chris will be appointed Minister for Rain/rain dancer in chief/least popular member of UKAR.

Eyebrook reservoir is a completely different piece of water to Rutland water.

Back to "Kris Kris Tofferson!" again with Metoffice backing that up saying its turning changeable next week.

Just to keep the merrimakers down a bit longer.

That matches the BBC as their forecasts have been all over the place which says to me the weather is difficult to predict hence the wild swings.
If true that’s very disappointing since it’s been so sunny down here

If only it were happening this week and not next, Hopefully the report changes again for the better and we get a week of sun but knowing the UK weather rain will be around somewhere close to us all.
