Not at all.

When they were still flying, German MiG-29s showed up regularly, even in the flying display. Remember the redcarding of one during the Cottesmore years. I think it was in '01.

I think you may have missed the point / longstanding UKAR in-joke...

They're not coming. Its just a provisional and RIAT have stated many times they can't justify the cost of bringing them over. :cuppa:

I trust you know for sure, hence the certainty of the statement. Further what's the point of the them being billed if it's a definite no! They certainly pitched up at Jersey and Sanicole last year, as I can personally testify. :cuppa:

Hullo mate, it's a regular question. The swedes put all their invites up on their calender, it doesnt mean its booked, only asked. Sweden get invited of course, and as their Historic flight is operated in service, it goes on the list. However, it is extremely unlikely due to regs and cost. Never say never, but their calender means diddly squat.

Just to clear this one up, the Swedish Historic Flight will not be at RIAT 2016.

Tom

The SwAFHF had RIAT listed last year and probably the year before that too.

Wes I recall last year's calendar, but as Jakesplanes points out, I'd no idea they did things in such reverse way, I would never have imagined they would publicise a list of places they'd like to go then see it all whittled down, perhaps. They did attend a lot of the shows they listed for 2016 in 2015, in the UK that is. RIAT has a long history of not inviting privately operated ex-military/cold war types admittedly, however, I think we can look forward to them pitching up again over St Heliers Bay!

Wasn't it said last year that their pilots don't have the correct paperwork to display in the UK? So even if Scampton has all the money in the world, it won't happen? :dunno:
