72 RAF — A Force in Decline
In December 2010, Air Vice-Marshal Greg Bagwell, the commander of the RAF’s No 1 Group, outlined a vision of a future RAF that would, sometime after 2017, include just six front-line fixed-wing fast-jet squadrons. In this special report, Jon Lake looks at the stark reality facing the future RAF

88 Spain’s F1 Team
Although soon to be retired, the Mirage F1 celebrated its 35th anniversary in Spanish AF service in 2010 at the top of its game — as a fighter still capable of fulfilling a variety of tasks, including escorting the King of Spain during the course of foreign visits. Marco Ferrageau de Saint Amand and Corné Rodenburg detail the upgraded Mirage F1M, which is still a very important asset within the Spanish AF fast-jet force
