Many heartfelt thanks for all your efforts (I've even installed iPhoto onto my iPad thanks to the editing powers you've shown it to have) now enjoy the show and once again, many thanks.

Well done Andy. If you don't get picture of the week, you should get member of the year for your efforts over the past few days.

Looks like a flying saucer nose-on... Thunderbird Two side on and from beneath... well... maybe the bat signal over Gotham City.
Too bad it was dark and bleargh weather when it arrived.

Yep they were the last movements in, other than something that woke me up in the early hours.

Excellent work Andy!
Out of interest - which service provider did you use for your uplink connection - I tried to use my Vodafone G3 connection on my Galaxy SII but it was too slow to be of much use.....

Great set Andy - Thanks very much
You got a well deserved mention during the day too

Re: RIAT Arrivals... LIVE!
Thanks for all the kind comments guys,
I must admit, the mention in the commentary completely took me by surprise yesterday, I was wrestling with my poncho and just stopped in my tracks "I could have swore he just said my name"!
In answer to a couple of questions,
Operator: 3 Network
Do not believe their coverage map, it says the airfield has perfect coverage, it does not. I got a good signal in the FRIAT enclosure but awful in p&v east.
File Size:
Unknown, iPhoto down scales images to around 4mp and uploads full size jpegs without any interaction.

Re: RIAT Arrivals... LIVE!
Amazing pics, and what a lot of work to bring them to everyone. Very pleased to see our aircraft featured (yellow Sea King) - given the number of arrivals, I wouldn't have been surprised if we'd been omitted in favour of something more exotic.
The trip down from Valley on Friday was hard work start to finish, taking the 'scenic' route all the way round the Lleyn peninsula and then Fishguard...the wipers were on all the way, including the little-used high-speed mode! Today's homeward run was a much more civilised affair!

Re: RIAT Arrivals... LIVE!
No, don't worry, we aren't pulling your leg!
Obviously we're feeling pretty blue about the lack of RIAT this year, and whilst it did cross our minds to do a fantasy live arrivals, we realised that we had over eight RIATs worth of archive stuff on this forum alone!
This will either make things much worse or act as some small tonic, but whilst we enjoy a couple of extra hours in bed this week, we thought it would be nice to bump these threads back to the top of the list. It's well worth making yourself a brew, and re-living the excitement of previous RIAT arrivals.
It all started in 2012. Psy was soon to become a thing and would redefine dad-dancing for a generation. The London Olympics was on the horizon, and the Vulcan (mods, hope this is ok to mention - feel free to issue a ban if not) had suffered its "silica bag" incident. In any event though, we were looking forward to a wonderful RIAT on paper, and Andy Evans had the tech and the idea for the first time to make a "live arrivals" thread. These are now part and parcel of UKAR, and other forums/social medias, but back in 2012, there were few who were doing it. Credit to Andy for leading the way.
