Re: 2014 participants
Also quite nice to have a flying timetable without it being printed in a programme that you have to pay for...
Re: 2014 participants
Presumed the 10 would stay for the weekend but it's not on Friday's list.

Re: 2014 participants
I notice the F-18 is not displaying tomorrow, Ok lineup otherwise hope to catch a few arrivals too. Can't they cancel the tin triangle and put the canberra up instead lol.
Re: 2014 participants
If anyone wonders what the Rans S6 is that is appearing in the flying display and wonders why something like that is included, it is the aircraft that has been built by youngsters under the Build A Plane scheme.

Re: 2014 participants
Thank you for the schedule Brian.
There is lots of good advice here, thank you. It has been many years since I've been at Farnborough, where on the flightline would you suggest a good spot? W - Centre - E?
Given the mega temps likely tomorrow I probably won't rush to get to the airfield mega early. Is it likely that I can get there, say 10-10:30ish and still be able to get near to the front of the flightline?
Thanks in advance guys

Has the Spanish Sea Harrier been validated for the air show?
Heard that it hasn't

Re: 2014 participants
There are videos of the Harrier displaying at FIA14 so I assume they are of the validation.

Re: 2014 participants
Does anybody know if stuff flying on Sunday is likely to depart after displaying, or wait until Monday? I'm thinking Connie, Vulcan and Harrier in particular?
"You really are an oafish philistine at times!"
Re: 2014 participants
Personally I'd reckon the Harrier and Vulcan won't leave on the Sunday.
The Harrier because there are two aircraft onsite, one of which is in the static, so unless they drag that out of the static and start it up etc, the pair (and any support aircraft) are more likely to leave after the show has finished.
I believe the Vulcan is going straight to Yeovilton from Farnborough so she'll likely depart sometime during the week for that.
Don't know about the Connie. A lot of departures could depend on weather, Sunday isn't looking too settled in places either, so some may choose to wait it out until Monday (though I've yet to see a forecast for Monday).

Re: 2014 participants
KC-10 stayed in static at 2012 show so hopefully will still be there, maybe they move it to where the 787 is?
I am now going Sunday as the weather looks better.

Great to see a Harrier flying, even if the display was pants compared to the RAF ones.

Re: 2014 participants
One of the Red Arrows has just suffered a bird strike mid display (Red 8) so the display has been paused while an in flight visual inspection is made. That's 3 bird strikes in as many weeks for the Red Arrows! Red 8 landed safely and the rest continued with a flypast before finishing.
Dreamliner and Poseiden apparently cancelled so just the Turbo fan, EA500, Vulcan and Spitfire left for today.

Re: 2014 participants
They said the P-8 and 787 were not displaying as a mark of respect by Boeing for the Malaysian 777 that crashed.
Well worth going today just for the Harrier.

Re: 2014 participants
Ahh right, I didn't hear that about the Dreamliner or P8.

Will the P-8 and 787 still display tomorrow and Sunday?

Re: 2014 participants
Should have stuck to my original plan and leave before the Vulcan displayed. Wasn't worth staying for and it should be put out to pasture as soon as posible. Forgotten how impressive a hoooooovering Harrier is though. No vertical take off as it might damage the runway but lots of hooooooovering.

I would have thought so. There was no mention of them not flying at the weekend.

Not until a link to the flying display for the weekend was posted on the previous page of this thread, of course....
(I know two negatives make a positive, but there are more than my brain can handle in this reply!!)
