Twin Engined GB - 1/4/14 to 30/06/14

Post by Deacon »

I thought I had better get this posted as the start of the GB is tomorrow! :dizzy:

The title should make things obvious. If it had two engines and was an aircraft, its eligible.

Now I know you guys are very clever and will no doubt find some stuff that looks twin engined, but wasn't, or doesn't look twin engined, but was. Please, for my sake, keep it simple.

The scope of this GB is huge as in military terms it spans from WW1 to current day and can include civil aircraft too!

Rules
1). The Group Build runs from 1st April 2014 to 30th June 2014.

2). Any aircraft with two engines is eligible, but no "snap together" style kits.

3). Any scale is eligible.

4). This isn't an out-of-the-box only GB, so any aftermarket sets can be used, and you can scratch build details to your heart's content.

5). Post a thread of your build, showing shots of your progress (at least 3). If you can, share some tips with us that you think might be useful (to do with a specific technique or aspect of the kit for example).

6). Kits started before the beginning of the Group Build are allowed but no more than 20% complete - ask if you're unsure.

7). Post shots of your finished model in the gallery thread.

8). This is for fun - enjoy your own, and everyone else's modelling.

Cheers guys.

Alan

Hi all I'm back. Finally got unpacked and moved into the new house. I have a 1/48 F7 Tigercat that I've been itching to build.

Scott
what is the significance of that flag

May well try to get an entry in for this. Got an Airfix Canberra PR9 and Lightning F6 in 1:48 in the stash, but it'll depend if I can summon the motivation. This Tornado is starting to drag a bit now, but it is very near finished.

As said on my He-111 thread, once I've moved house from the 18th, i'll be making a start on modelling again from around the 28th, so my He-111 and a contender for this shall be on the cards, what, I have no idea yet!

And I will join when I get my backside in gear to finish this Tornado, entry will in all probability be either the 1:48 Lightning (23 sqn), Canberra PR.9 (39 sqn hemp) or the 1:32 Typhoon (1435 flt). See where the mood takes me. The Typhoon is tempting me, but not sure if I want to tackle such a big build at the moment. See how I feel

I will build something, I promise! As i'm a member of the Tornado SIG I really should build something for them as this GB gives me the opportunity. It's a shame the F-15 which I got off the shelf of doom is quite a way through its build so I can't enter that.

Some of you may be aware that my mom passed away on the 5th of April.

Although I had hoped that melting plastic would be my way of getting some personal time to focus on things other than issues that need sorting, I have found that
I cannot settle to any model making, flitting from one build to another and then nothing at all.

I apologize guys if I am slow to be involved on your posts regarding the Twin Engined GB and I hope normal service will resume soon.

Thanks for your patience.

I think you're the last person on here that should feel the need to apologise for slowness, and certainly not under the circumstances! Hopefully even if you're not doing much building you can know you're among friends on here. Take it steady mate!
